Just got back from receiving my findings.....sep with severance pay. My peblo swears that my severance is based off of my high three, I have read otherwise on here. Any one know the answer to this? Also, has any one actually got their taxes back from their severance check? And last, how long does it normally take to get your severance check? The woman at finance said she thinks it should be paid out on the day I separate. The good news is this whole thing is over and I get to go back to sunny Arizona to start school! :D
 
Hey bigbrad I saw where you are navy. I was wondering when your package went to board/how long it took to get back. I am navy too and had my package sent up to the IPEB from portsmouth on 23 Aug the VA sent their findings back to the IPEB on 9 Dec.

Just curious, is this the informal board results that you just recieved or formal? If informal, have you contrmplated appealing, if for nothing else possiably getting your rate high enough for medical retirement? Just wondering.

Yes, this was an informal board. After weighing my options I decided to take the severance pay. Part of my knee problem is the Navy's fault, but also partly congentital. I feel that it would be real hard to get from 10% up to 30%, and I'm just ready to head back home and get on with everything.
 
Big brad I got one more question for ya, since you are about the only one I know on here that is in the same time frame as me. Do you know how long it took from the time the VA gave you a rating to when the board notified you?
 
Well first BigBrad, good luck mate. And second, Uafan, Im Navy as well. But my issues are lower/mid back and hip. Not sure about the board issues as yet. NOSC Everett isnt the most....hardcore about things. Seems to be a lot of CYA goin on there.
