If anyone can help i'd appreciate it. My current situation is this. I just got my ratings back from the VA and I got a 30% rating total but also the Army gave me a 30% rating which allows me permanent medical retirement. I started my time enlisted and switched over to officer years later. I spent 5 years enlisted and 4 as an officer so I am now a CPT. My question is, when my retirement pay is calculated do they go by my pay as an officer or will they revert back to my enlisted time? Thats a significant difference in pay. I ask because I know that for an officer to retire as an officer they have to have served at least 8 years commissioned. I don't fit this category so i'd like to know if the MEB and medical retirement is an exception to this rule. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
