The days remaining is based off the Estimated Finish Date with appeal. Based on my initial impression. The usefulness is looking at your current phase and projected forward from there. Also if you are waiting on ratings. The days elapsed likely does not match the days passed since your IPEB decision.

Also like Jason Perry posted, an average only tells a bit of the picture. They should at least provide a standard deviation. It should say something along the lines.

80% of cases 140 days +/- 10 days
90% of cases 140 days +/- 25 days
95% of cases 140 days +/- 40 days

If they did that then your level of certainty will increase. Also if you click the hyperlink of the phase. You will see a historical graph of the actual average for your UIC. It looks like the data is incomplete and they didn't do a good job of filtering out the 0 data, but once again it will give you an idea of your locations performance against the Army average.

So a quick way to estimate when you will be done with PEB is to take the last Army Delta Value and then add all the averages together. The last two values are for post transition and transition. So if you want to have a "rough" idea on when you will hit transpoc, take out those values. That is with an FPEB, take off those days if you want to figure without an appeal.

I will be curious to see how the averages change over the next month. I am going to keep a log in a spreadsheet and build a forecasting tool.

So I got an "official email" granting me access to my soldier dashboard within the past hour. I checked it again and now I am at 225 days. Somehow 6 days passed within less than an hour.

Got that same email, I logged into it and found this:

Indeed, this is good insightful information! :)

To that extent, kudos for taking the initiative "to keep a log in a spreadsheet and build a forecasting tool" for curiosity sake. That said, it shall be interesting to see your results in the near future, thanks!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

Congrats! Always look forward. I read you previous post. Though, this may not be the direction you intended, look at it as a chance to create new opportunity. You've done the heavy lifting for your country, and I for one appreciate that. Now it is time to take care of yourself.

"As you begin to plan your transition you need to understand that you can influence your separation date."

We can only wish.

So I guess this 225 days this is just some number the web designer threw up there?

Indeed, as My IDES Dashboard shows "UNKNOWN" in both Estimated Finish Date (w/ Appeal) and Estimated Finish Date (no Appeal).

To that extent, it seems that the My IDES Dashboard application has temporary difficulties with DoD IDES cases pending in the IDES PEB reconsideration appeals process in my opinion.

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

What's implied here is that if you want to influence your date, don't request any formal boards or appeal your rating. Be a good little boy, shut up and color, and be happy with what they give you. This all feeds into my general conspiracy theory that they make this difficult so that the average soldier is satisfied with his lowball rating and accepts it to end the madness.

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

Indeed, congratulations on the acceptance via payroll signature of your DA Form 199; now it's time to enjoy your forthcoming military disability retirement to include all post-military endeavors! ;)

Indeed, as annotated in the IDES Soldier Dashboard email received this afternoon, it states:

"As you begin to plan your transition you need to understand that you can influence your separation date. When you elect to appeal at either the MEB or PEB level, or request a VA reconsideration of your ratings, this will add to your timeline. These are your rights to due process under the IDES system and you should not feel pressured to waive your rights."

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

This is more fun than stacking fish hooks! I went from 231 this morning to 225 this afternoon. At this rate, my ratings and 199 should be at Campbell by next week. LOL Why do they turture us so?

If we appeal, it'll take longer -
Either they think we're dumb, or they're trying to ward off potential appeals in a nice way.
