Severance pay dispursed tax free vs getting it back after taken out

I have searched and found numerous posts on how to get the tax taken out back after finance takes it out.....but with IDES now doing VA concurently......I have heard mention of people getting finance to pay the whole amount nontaxed....but havent seen how to do THAT particular meathod.....has anyone got the whole amount dispensed tax free?!

That is what we were told will be happening for my husband's. I will update you once we receive it to let you know if that was the case.
