Severance vs COAD--opinions??

In process of Med Board and I also have 19 years in the Army--I was rated at 10% severance 70% VA which means 149,000 severance and 1300 a month.My biggest health problem is a broken bone in my foot that took about 9 months to heal. I am on the fence a bit and asking for opinions. I know people may think its crazy to think about severance however to pay off all debt and start over is sure tempting.
I know I am not getting medical and I could definitely get a nice retirement check every month.

Severance you have to pay back from your VA pay.

Ask for limited duty to get to 20 years and collect both checks and keep your medical.
