Hello,

Any advice (do's/don'ts) on filling out the Separation Health Assessment - Part A Self-Assessment? About to enter the MEB/PEB IDES w/ 1 LOD. On IDT status. 6 active/19.5 total yrs. I was under the impression this is for full-timers, but maybe that is the actual separation physical exam only. I understand the C&P exam will count as that for Guard/Reserve.

My med docs and diagnoses are in order and have been treated for years. All combat connected w/ VA rating of about 9 years now. I just want to ensure all the actions I take are in the direction of helping my case vs not. I was struggling to find any conversations about it in searches.

Thanks,

Dave

If you were getting out via IDES you get a Separation Health Assessment from the VA and don't need to do one separately from you unit. You may want to hold off on doing one outside of the one in IDES if you are going to be in IDES soon.
