My medical retirement date is 29 May 17. So I understand I need to enroll for healthcare at the VA. Do I continue my mental health treatment through the VA? Am I able to see a civilian? All I was told was that I need to make sure I continue treatment but didn't tell me with who or where or does it matter?

Indeed, while placed onto the DoD military TDRL, it's highly advisable to continue all medical treatment for the PEB-referred "unfit for duty" medical condition(s). Whether you decide to see a military, VA and/or civilian provider is definitely your decision to make.

Nonetheless, please keep accurate copies of all medical evidence and/or medical documentation while on TDRL since the DoD TDRL Branch shall request those records during your TDRL re-evaluation process. Take care!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer!"

Best Wishes!
