TDRL to PDRL; Question about pay changes

I received my findings today stating that I will be going from TDRL to PDRL. I am reading the information sheet and there was a section that I had some confusion about.

Do not assume that 30% TDRL is the same as 30% PDRL (for this specific scenario, most individuals with < 20 years of active service will see their retired pay drop from 50% of their base pay to 30% once they are placed on the PDRL). You retain Tri Care and ID Card.
Could someone explain what this means and why there would be a pay difference in TDRL/PDRL?

My info below:
Combined Disability Rating 70%; VA P&T 100%. Time in Service 16 years and 7 months

CRSC Amount$1,726.00
CRSC Debt Deduction$0.00
CRSC Garnishment Deduction$4.66
CRSC Net Pay$1,721.34

Entitlement Information

Retired Pay Before Deductions$2,915.00
Retired Pay Offset by DVA Compensation$3,838.51
CRSC Debt Balance$0.00

Garnishment Being WithheldYES

Hello @jug2020

In April you said: "Current Status: Navy TDRL Start date Oct 2020 (Combat PTSD). DoD 70%; VA 100% P&T" While on the TDRL, the minimum percentage (payment) for the DoD rating is 50%. If your DoD rating was higher than 50%, the payment would be at the higher percentage, not to exceed 75%.

You included the following, which I assume is your PDRL:
"My info below:
Combined Disability Rating 70%; VA P&T 100%. Time in Service 16 years and 7 months"

In both cases, your retied pay is reduced by the amount of your VA comp. It appears all your retired pay is waived/lost.

Your CRSC while on the TDRL would be the higher of the longevity portion of your retired pay
OR
the amount for your approved CRSC percentage, found in the VA comp tables.

Your CRSC while on the PDRL would be the same.

Addendum:

In other words, if one's rating on the TDRL is 30%; they will be paid at the 50% rate.
If their rating is 30% for the PDRL; they will be paid at the 30% rate.

Did you work while on TDRL? If so, was it asked during your re-examination & how did you respond to the question, if you worked?
