I received my findings today stating that I will be going from TDRL to PDRL. I am reading the information sheet and there was a section that I had some confusion about.
My info below:
Combined Disability Rating 70%; VA P&T 100%. Time in Service 16 years and 7 months
Do not assume that 30% TDRL is the same as 30% PDRL (for this specific scenario, most individuals with < 20 years of active service will see their retired pay drop from 50% of their base pay to 30% once they are placed on the PDRL). You retain Tri Care and ID Card.
Could someone explain what this means and why there would be a pay difference in TDRL/PDRL?My info below:
