Posting in case anyone is around the same dates and wants to track along. I will update as my case moves along.

Unfitting condition onset (ulcerative colitis and later, joint related issues from the UC)- April 2020. First diagnosed at an off-base provider so wasn’t flagged by medical for a while
Started biologic medication (Remicade) which would trigger MEB- May 2022
PCM initiated Code 37- 28 July 2022
First contact from PEBLO to fill out IRILO form- 8 Aug 2022
NARSUM appt with PCM- 15 Sep 2022
CIS signed (very strong recommendation to RETAIN)- 23 Sep 2022
Case submitted to AFPC- 5 Oct 2022
AFPC directed Full MEB/PEBLO initial brief- 13 Oct 2022

***I’m feeling very overwhelmed entering IDES. Any advice on starting this process is greatly appreciated. Also, has anyone ever seen a RTD after AFPC directed a full MEB? My commander is pushing hard for retention based on her CIS comments, despite the severity of my condition. I don’t think she knows how bad my joint issues are, but I made it a point to candidly explain in the Airman’s comment section.

Re-posting because I realized my timeline format was hard to read...

If put i full iDES the chances of being RTD are slim. The commander's impact statement rarely has any sway on the fitness determination.

Thanks so much @Provis. That's what it seemed like from what I've read so far- that's reassuring as I'm trying to plan what my future will look like if I'm being separated.

Any advice on starting this process is greatly appreciated.

This is my advice.

Any timeline that your PEBLO gives you.... Tripple it. That way there is only a 50% chance you will be disappointed.

When i was first coded 37 my peblo told me to expect 3-5 months and be out. Ive just hit 11 months. Im just waiting on orders now (which i was told would take 10 days and its day 11).

Point is. their timelines don't have teeth. there isn't anyone holding them to the standard and you have no recourse.

Thanks so much for your input @Kenbob22. I thought the wait just to find out whether I’d be returned to duty or not was grueling… can’t imagine how tough this next year will be waiting for each stage. I’m sure coming up on the holidays movement will be extra slow for my case too. Glad you are almost to the end of the road!! Did you do any appeals or is 11 months with no appeals?

No appeals. Got 30% dod and 100% VA so I can't complain about the results. And it took my PCM 3 months to write the NARSUM, which your already past so that's good atleast.

Edit: my comment about tripling was half a joke. It's probably not that bad. But feels like it at times

Commander recommendation doesn’t mean anything. 5% of MEB cases that go full MEB result in Retain. I’d say you’re getting out.

@Kenbob22 can you reply here with your timeline? I think I saw it once before but can’t find it. Want to compare. I’m just waiting on VA ratings now since I’m through the IPEB stage as of two weeks ago.

That’s great to know. I just assumed it would carry a lot of weight. There was so much inaccurate information on mine and also seemed like my condition was downplayed

I tagged you in my timeline thread. I'm out eating dinner with fam and was easier than trying to copy and paste

Hi! Ulcerative colitis here too! Commander statement was just sent yesterday, he also chose retain.

Would you happen to know if there is a way to view the narsum? I did not have a nuarsum appointment and I’ve barely spoken with my peblo

My Peblo gave me a copy of my Narsum during one of our meetings. I "bugged" my peblo about once a week on avg. If you dont stay on top of them then they have no reason to contact you until they need you for signtures ect.

Yeah I got mine from my PEBLO. Need to do an updated timeline, got my rating today and my orders. I’m on the way out.
Where do you have your timeline posted? My package was sent to AFPC for the IPEB on Oct 18th.
