Had one unexplained loss of consciousness with convulsions during tech school training. I am enlisted and have been in the AF for approximately 1.5 years. My job requires 'flight status' and I need a Class III flight physical to maintain every 2 years. So far the MRI and cardiologist hasn't found anything of concern. My PCP said once all the tests have been done and the data needed has been collected then I will be submitted to a MEB for review for syncope or a seizure - whichever the neurologist diagnoses me as.
How realistic is it that I will be able maintain my flight status for my job? Or will I be reclassed into a non-flying AFSC?
How likely is it I will be separated/retired for a seizure/syncope? If so, I would prefer to retire over separate.
