Yes, I qualify for CRDP. This question is about steps to ensure CRDP starts.
When I had my exit interview with the VA MSC, he told me the VA needs three things: DA199, Retirement Order, and DD214. I have 2 of the 3, and will have my DD214 soon. MSC gave me the steps to do the upload online or he said I can just send him the docs and he would upload. He said once the VA gets those documents, they can begin working on my final VA Rating Decision Letter. Said could take 30-60 days to get it.
Then, another person told me that once I have my final VA Rating Decision Letter, I have to contact DFAS to give the letter to them so they can start CRDP.
Happy to do all that. Are those the steps? Get docs to VA -> Get VA Rating Decision Letter -> Give that to DFAS to start CRDP? Anything extra or different?
Thanks,
Jason
ps. I personally think it is a bit ironic though. We moved from the old DES to IDES to integrate DoD and VA systems. I would have thought the VA and DFAS would have did some integration as well...LOL
