VA Disability Code Sheet

VA Disability Code Sheet is the only item I need to submit my CRSC packet. I went to my VSO to have them pulled the sheet from the VMBS. However, they advised me that they were on the 1st they can no longer provide this document to Veterans. They also advised that the VA will provide this document anymore either.

Has anyone have the same issue? I am going to try to use DVA office in Indianapolis. They are located in the same building and floor as the VA Regional Office. Hopefully they can get the document for me.

If not, does anyone have any suggestions on where to get one?

My wife submitted her CRSC packet without the required VA code sheet and her claim was approved. I don't think its needed anymore as long as you have all of the other documents.

Agreed with @Provis - at least the Army will pull it. There is a new DODI in the works for CRSC, so hopefully that will address the code sheet dilemma going forward.

That's consistent at all DAVs now as far as I know. FOIA is appearing to be the only path now.

Yes you can get it via FOIA. I tried VERA and they wouldn’t provide either, told me to FOIA which is taking 6 months. So J am moving forward without.

I just got mine back from Army and it actually had the code sheet attached to the Approval, so I can confirm by personal experience that they do pull it.

Same was worried because my wife's package listed va code sheet as a document to submit. She was approved and in the approval was her VA code sheet. Not sure why they even list it as something to send in. It's more of an internal document anyways.

New DODI is in the works, to include a NEW DD Form for Reconsiderations, so hopefully, there will be an update for the DD 2860 to drop the code sheet.

I’d also like to see DD 2860 be updated to reflect Pact Act presumption under combat related code. They have codes for Agent Orange, Gulf War. GW is treated differently than PACT. Clearly the form is outdated and I still think there’s been some PACT ACT foot dragging. Which dos spark my frustration since many people fought for over a decade to get this legislation passed. Interesting they have an example of hypertension being secondary to diabetes on the form, Hypertension is a Vietnam/AO presumptive now post PACT ACT.

Or just a "Presumptive" box to cover all eras
