VA Rating After IDES

Hey team! Question, has anyone completed IDES, received there proposed rating packet, and pending VA rating after retirement?

I'm PDRL as of 29 March with 100 P/T. I checked the VA website and it states my conditions are pending rating decision amd the claim was initiated on 29 March (same date as my retirement). I reached out to my MSC who assured me I'll be getting paid on 1 May which he said I would. I called the VA today and they said I wouldn't. I'm confused and not sure if the va processing is normal and I'll get paid 1 May or not. Any advice is helpful. Thank you

Hello!

My retirement date was 28 March as well. During my Exit Interview, my MSC said May 1st as well. After i enrolled at the VA and hand submitted my DD-214, they immediately started finalizing the ratings. From what i was told, May 1st should still be my pay day. I will say, the backpay will be beneficial on your part if it isn't May 1st!

Right yea either get paid on time or get double on 1 June. Not mad at it but not always trusting with some of these processes LOL. Thank you for the response and good luck to you!

Any updates on timelines for finalizing after IDES ratings? I'm sitting at step 5 and it's super fun... haha

Hey sorry for the late response. Not on here very often. my final rating once in the process after separation/retirement took about a month and a half. After I didn't receive it on the first of May as expected I reached out to my Military Service Coordinator (MSC) and he said there was an issue with the system. I got a partial payment and then my first full payment was on 1 June and is reoccurring. If you haven't received anything yet recommend reaching out to your MSC for assistance. I hope things start working quickly for you.

Your VA comp is effective 1 April 2025 (the month after retirement). If VA finishes your rating in April, you’ll be paid 1 May. If not, you’ll get paid later with back pay to 1 April.

How long did you sit at step 5? I’m stuck on this step.
Oh, geez, it was Sept until late December as I remember it. The PEB was waiting on the VA for nearly 2.5 months.
