What's the best way to get Erectile Dysfunction Documented?

What's the best way to go about getting Erectile Dysfunction documented while still active duty, so you can file a winning VA claim when out? The Meds I've been on have caused me to get it pretty bad, so I was thinking about scheduling an appointment at Medical with my PCM. Do you think the following info below, is sufficient enough to explain to my PCM?

"Since taking anti-depressants and anxiety medications, it's caused me to have persistent erectile dysfunction. It's been a real burden, and I was wondering if there was any treatment options available for it?"

Here are the symptoms I'm having:
- Trouble getting an erection
- Trouble keeping an erection
- Decreased sexual desire
- Premature ejaculation

I would hope a PCM would consider adjusting you medications rather than throwing more meds at you for ED.

@chaplaincharlie He only cares about getting it documented for a claim docs do switch meds unless its a long term side effect to meds at that point they dont want to switch your formula.

I don't know his motive, but I do understand MH and adding more meds to treat a side effect is rarely a great choice.

I'm an idiot lol, I didn't even think about asking for a adjustment to my dosage instead. That's a much better idea, thanks for the help!

So do you think this should be good enough then, for having the necessary documentation to file for ED when I get out?

If you continue to have symptoms after several medication changes, then I would think yes.

t I did

Medication most mental health medications SSRI's I was on Zoloft, but usually all tends to kill your sex drive

so question on ED. I was diagnosed secondary to medication i take for Sciatica/Radiculopothy. I filed a claim and submitted all the records including notes the doctor stating it was because of the medication i even uploaded copies of the viagra prescription YET they still are having me go in for a C&P Exam at LHI (company they contracted to do the exam). I assume this is just to get someone to fill out the DBQ and link it with a NEXUS even though if they would read the records they could figure that out easily. What is it with VA and stupid DBQ just read the records and you would have your answer. if anyone knows I would appreciate

Cymbalta is the med, sometimes Robaxin does it even though doc says muscle relaxant shouldn't plus on Mobic

If you're looking for an SSRI that doesn't always come with the ED issues, I would ask your PCM about Wellbutrin. I've taken a number of SSRIs and all had the sexual side effects until I found Wellbutrin. I was previously on Paxil and Viagra to combat it.

ya I already submitted my claim, I can work with my VA doc on meds but just didn't understand why a C&P Exam was being scheduled since all the medical evidence shows that this is what is causing it.
