Your guess what my outcome will be?

Hello,

Great site for info regarding the whole MEB/PEB process. My question is what do you think my outcome will be?

Background:

Dizzy, vomiting, ringing in ears started winter 2012, I thought I was going crazy so I went to Mental Health. When that led nowhere I was finally referred to ENT off base. Results were moderate hearing loss left ear and moderate /severe loss in right with tinnitus and hearing aids. They did some test with warm air on my eardrums and I had a bad reaction after 45 seconds. The right ear made me black out momentarily at 45 seconds and after the test I slept in my truck and vomited for a couple hrs. On base ENT diagnosed me with Meniere's Disease and I was told I was being MED Boarded on Christmas eve. (Merry Christmas) After stressing for a month I reached out to the base Peblo and she said I was not in the system and that the doc was gathering info and needed more time to start the board.

What do you foresee my outcome being? The "episodes" come roughly 4-6 times monthly and are triggered by stress, car rides/helicopter/airplane. Too much salt/coffee/beer and sometime random ones that seem to happen even when I'm doing everything right.

USAF/over 12 yrs

Thanks for any info.

Code 6205: Meniere’s syndrome (endolymphatic hydrops) is a disorder of the inner ear that affects both hearing and balance. Symptoms include hearing loss, tinnitus, and dizziness or wooziness. This condition can be rated one of two ways: once under this code, or three ratings, one under tinnitus, one under hearing loss, and one as a peripheral vestibular disorder, can be combined. Choose the rating option that gives the higher rating.
If there is hearing impairment with episodes of dizziness and staggering while walking that occur more than once a week, whether or not there is tinnitus, it is rated 100%. If there is hearing impairment with episodes of dizziness and staggering while walking that occur one to four times a month, whether or not there is tinnitus, it is rated 60%. If there is hearing impairment with episodes of dizziness less than once a month, whether or not there is tinnitus, it is rated 30%.";http://www.militarydisabilitymadeeasy.com/theears.html

Thanks for the info Doc, has anyone actually been separated or retained with just maniere's? I don't think I have any other conditions that I could even claim so this would be the only thing. I've searched the forums and Google and there's a lot of info about the disease but not so many examples of people in my situation. Air Force with over 12 yrs and only thing is maniere's. I just feel like ill lose my butt off in this scenario.

I believe there have been separations due to unfit findings with Meniere's Syndrome. I've seen it posted a couple of times over the past few days.

Follow along with these and see what progress they are having and they may even be able to give you some answers. Also, welcome to the forum. It has helped me tremendously when trying to research information.

This thread was particularly informative, and user 'joshgo' was retired with Meniere's:

There are a few more out there so just do a search and poke around. Prepare to spend long hours on this forum learning more than your PEBLO or anyone else in the process that you will come across.
