Wait Time For Providence, RI

Good luck with that. I've been trying myself but some days they have automated system and some days they don't. Just believe that your package made it, on ebenefit a it should state where your package is.
 
Another Marine in my section just went to "Preparation For Decision" and his file went to the VA right around the same time is mine. Providence is finally showing some improvement, hope the rest of your cases are next.
 
Locke in also an active duty marine my peblo also told me it would be 30-60 days once the va gets it, and mine is also in providence, however mine has been with the va since October 8th and I have heard nothing yet so expect a few more months
 
DaPats you should be next brother, mine was at the VA for 113 days before it went from "Gathering of Evidence" to "Pending Decision Approval".

I really hope you all get some news soon on your claims. I must have been in a smaller pile at Providence;) My ebeneies moved to Preparation for Notification on Friday. I called DAV and they said, they sent out an informal notification letter on Thursday and I should see it in next couple of days. DAV Rep rattled off some of my percentages, the main one I remembered was I'm 100% for my AICD. The VA sent my case back to AFPC which they received it on 1/9/14. So, the light is getting brighter at the end of this very long tunnel:cool: I feel so much more relieved. I truly appreciate everyone's help and Providence is getting better in my own .02. They are at least a little better than other DRAS sites.

If you have not signed a power of attorney yet for DAV to represent you, then that's the first step. Once you sign the POA, the DAV can help you and then get access to your claims via VTA or whatever database the VA uses. The DAVs website is www.dav.org from there you can go to the Veterans tab, and there will be links for locating VSO, or your regional office. I have copied and pasted the office locations & numbers below, just scroll down to where your regional office is which is where you reside or the closest one to your home of record. But once you have them as a POA, any office that has access to VTA can check the status or your claim. If your claim is at Providence DRAS their number is- 401-223-3695. I'm out of Massachusetts so my regional office with a VSO is Boston and there number is
617-303-5675. I went into my local VA center and spoke with the DAV service officer there, who immediately called Boston and he then gave me to phone and the office lady was able to look into the system and see what the VA had rated me at. The VFW also has VSO, veteran service officers, these are the specially trained officers to deal with compensation/disability claims to include almost all VA claims. Let us know what your status is and if you still need some help in getting into contact with a VSO be it from DAV, VFW, AMVETS. Keep us posted, and I hope you get results very soon. Be well brother!

So if I am in Oklahoma, but package is at Providence, better to get DAV rep in OKC or providence.

Im thinking Ok ultimately to expedite the POA issue,

For logistics and easier on you I would go to one of the closest DAV offices that has a VSO. I believe OKC DAV office has VSOs. Complete and turn in in-person to a VSO if you can, but if not it can be done via email. I did my in person, that way they scanned it into the VA's system immediatley and the VA processed it much quicker. I will attach the POA form that way you can complete most of it and then sign it in front of the VSO if you go that route. Once the DAV becomes POA for you and DAV office in the nation that has access to VTA can then look into your claim. Since my claim was at Providence I was calling the DAV there and also calling my regional Boston office if I did not get a response from Providence DAV. But once you get the POA, I would try calling Providence DAV explain that your case doesn't even have a rater yet and it's been a super long time and see if they can look into why since they are where your case is at. But you could use both offices once the DAV is a POA for you. Good Luck and I pray you get the attention that you have served for and deserve.

It's amazing. I've gone from checking Ebenefits everyday to checking MOL everyday for a new EAS! I just got into college I'm hoping I can be on terminal all Feburary!
 
How long was yours in pending approval before you got your 199?

I changed to pending decision over New Years so there was a little delay. I've actually been waiting longer for my new date than the time it took to schedule the appointment for my findings.

Frank, I was able to clear CIF a few months ago just with a memo from my CoC. Helps to ensure you don't have FLIPLs or anything. Not sure what everyone's post SOP is. To that effect, a letter from my PEBLO enabled me to get a memorandum from in/ out processing I took to transportation in lieu of orders and allowed to get my household goods picked early as well and moved into storage so I can move the rest in a partial DITY (I had to move while waiting for my final ratings... still waiting).
