Wait Time For Providence, RI

PEBLO lost cause . I called her the 05FEB, one day after I saw my status on ebennies change to pending decision approval.
She said her information says my case hasn't even been assigned to a rater yet, and to call back in one month. LOL!

Hope to actually get a chance to talk to my DAV in the next couple days...

What law would this be? He's been completely on the up-and up with everyone. His command knows, HQ knows, Gunny Snow his PEBLO knows (he just spoke with him again today about this). He was told that he couldn't even start the process of making his med appointments until a few months before his retirement..... I don't understand how they could have told him that in the first place if its illegal.

Can you point me to where this information is? Thanks again!

Ok seems there may be some confusion here, Was your husband MEB'd through IDES or did he just file his retirement claim early through the BDD, benefits deliverable at discharge?

If he was found Unfit at the PEB, and his package forwarded to the VA for ratings, then he has not recieved his official 356 yet, his 356 would be the "official unfit" determination, with VA preliminary ratings.

Now if he has his preliminary ratings and everything, then the VA is just waiting on his official retirement/DD214 to finalize at start paying his VA pay.

Now if He is still in the IDES process, has NO RATINGS yet, and was retired under a traditional Length of service retirement, his chain has violated the DOD I for the IDES process. Because his ratings could be higher than what a LOS retirement would be etc. Once you enter the IDES process, you are in until completion, unless you waive it.

So far from what I've gathered this past month, most members on here refer to DAV alot, and somewhat get a realistic response. What about the PEBLO, are they reliable or useful ? or are they just another lost source ?

In my case my PEBLO has been helpful in regards to orders extensions, putting together my package and things of that nature, basically anything that involves the DOD side of the house. The minute my package was sent to the VA however my PEBLO has been useless. It seems that is he doesn't have any rights to actually see what is going on within their system, he only tells me things that I can looks up on ebenefits. That is when my DAV rep came into play. She has rights to look into my case and actually find out exactly what is going on, what step I am in, and also has inside numbers to call actualy real life humans who are directly responsible for my case, instead of me called the 1-800 number and getting some person who can tell me my case is being worked on and that is all the information. In my case my claim was getting thrown to the side becasue someone failed to mark it as an IDES claim so they were not processing it becasue I was on active duty, my DAV rep was able to call the actual people in Providence and get it straightened out. That is when my case went from "Review of evidence" to 'pending decision aprroval". Now I am waiting for the DOD to finish their part to I can get done with these clowns.

Well Mine went from prep for decision to pending dec. approval today. SO moving right along. I figure if I can get SCAADL finished (maybe even backpayed), then it will be a smooth transition to get the VA caregiver done as well, just gotta have one side move faster than the other 1 week, and the other move faster the next. Hopefully by the end of the week I can have at least knowledge of my percentages for the Lawyer/SSDI judge. Even better if I can get my 356.

Mines been sitting at pending decision approval since 04Feb.

I'm not even going to bother calling Peggy today, no need for the disappointment.

Glad to see some people with some progress.

I tried to call another regions DAV today and they couldn't help me, they told me to call my regional. My regional DAV never returns my calls.....

Mine went from 'Review of Evidence' to 'Preparation for Decision' today. I'll tell ya I was very excited. TSgt Twitch, seeing that yours also moved between stages quickly give me assurance that mine will move stages quickly too.

Well the good news is, my case is in fact moving. the bad news is, spent another day in the hospital, seems my bowels/intestines did indeed attempt to escape through my belly button due to the "strain of heavy traffic" due to pain pill use. I take softners and laxatives, but guess even if things "feel normal" you should still take them. So we shall see what the docs wanna do about that, anyone know a rating for pooping out your belly button? (kidding mostly of course it should be fixed easily)

LOL thanks for the humor TSgt, but in all seriousness hope you start feeling better.

Get Better TSgt and keep us posted on both your health and your case progress. So, glad that we are see a bunch of claims moving along. Good luck everyone.

Oh, I got an email from my Peblo today at 4:23 sent, but did not see it until about 7pm eastern time. It was titled- IPEB/VA Results for SSgt &&&&&&&& but IT WAS FREAKING BLANK. NO attachment, no written commentary or anything just a F&&&&& Blank email:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: I never got a call from him or even missed a call from him. I sure hope this day does not count on my clock for having to make an agreement on the results once I finally know what's going on. Gotta LOVE AFPC:eek::confused:

Anyone have any progress on their case?

I haven't had any for 9-10 days.

I called Peggy yesterday and I got same verbatim explanation and verification of my address (don't they know AD doesn't have their results mailed to them?). Then Peggy started rattling off some 86 day and other odd numbered timeline. I was trying to think what she was talking about, but then concluded that she didn't know what she was talking about, like some of them.

MY DAV office has a procedure where you are put on a call back list in order to communicate with your DAV. I missed the call last week and called back one minute immediately after. Was told I had to be put on a call back list again, LOL.

So I'm waiting to hear from the DAV, and for the ratings to be "finalized" and signed off by a supervisor.

Woo! Indeed, take care of yourself and get better soon!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

well I got good news, everything beyong the hole in my belly button is in tact, surgeon say no surgery needed unless it does not heal on its own in the next couple weeks. He believes more than likely it was just an infected hair right on the surgery scar from my previous hernia, so pretty much dumb luck. Still no new info on my VA numbers yet, and the guy who has to take my SCAADL form and send it to afpc is out of town until tuesday, the same day as my lawyer meeting before my SSDI hearing. I'm fairly busy for a cripple lol.

Indeed, as we all potentially are at least for me; in my opinion lol! ;)

To that extent, it's good to hear that you are doing better; keep it up good buddy! :D

At 140 days and still in "review of evidence".
I will suggest you call peggy and make sure your case is marked 'IDES'. They might not know you are in the IDES program and not work on your case because you are still active, assuming you are still sctive.

Well, talked to my DAV today. He said my claim was finalised Feb 11th. He said the VA is awaiting my DD214 but I explained to him I am in the IDES process and he I won't have that until I sign my proposed ratings and get discharged.

Sounds like he was a little un-familar with with the IDES process so he will call me back next week to clarify.

Ebennies and Peggy do not show any updated progress, they both state the last movement was Feb04.

Sounds like the VA low balled me for my unfitted condition, oh well, encouraging news regardless, I guess?

did he give you numbers? if not then don't speculate until they are in front of you, only drive yourself crazy.

Was given numbers Twitch, will wait to see them for myself though, as we all know the end result when telephone is played.

Indeed, I must say that every time I see the word "Peggy" in this thread and now know its meaning; a small grin is displayed on my face. ;)

To that extent; I want to say thanks since I don't smile nor grin anymore much these days! :(
