Wait Time For Providence, RI

patience is a virtue no doubt, just continue to follow up, and see it through. Myself I have conceded the first round of fights with the DoD and taking my battle to the VA as a civilian.

This process if really wearing me thin, I would really appreciate some advice or words of encouragement, as it would really help me.

My proposed ratings have been complete since Feb 11, and were sent to PEB Feb 12th.

I have yet to sign my DA 199.

I called the PEB office in Washington DC earlier this week and the lady behind the phone said " My PEBLO should be calling me soon".

I talked to my PEBLO yesterday and he said usually the PEB has it for 2 weeks and then sends it to the command., but he has not seen the ratings yet.

Does this sound right? Am I just being impatient?

From what I've read on these boards is people generally sign their 199 days after the VA finishes the ratings...

Thanks
Have you tried talking with a VSO? I had to sign a power of attorney but by next week he said he'll be able to see my case and give me updates.

Yes, I have been in contact with a VSO. Now that the VA has completed the ratings and sent it to the PEB it is out of his hands...

Indeed, your assessment is right on the money in my opinion! ;)

Hmm, I totally comprehend your heightened anxiety and frustration at this point in time while in the DoD IDES process albeit there's definitely light at the end of the tunnel or at the end of the day for sure! :)

In retrospect, I had a lot of bad experiences while in the DoD IDES process which significantly affected my DoVA proposed ratings since some DoD IDES "idiot" employees did want to perform their job efficiently. :(

As such, I had to invoke the appeals process while in the DoD IDES which unfortunately extended my time albeit I received adequate results as a direct result. Sure, I am not 100% satisfied, but it's very good to know that the DoD IDES "idiot" employees were not successful in their determination to under-rate or lowball all of my combat-related medical conditions!

In my opinion, patience is definitely as key contributor while in the DoD IDES process; you can do it...I have 100 confidence in your ability to adapt and overcome!

With that all said, please take care and remain very strong for you and the entire bunch of loved ones in your life!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

OK, good deal for sure! ;)

Indeed, I look forward to reading your follow-up posts referencing your interactions with VBA to resolve DoVA D-RAS rating issues and other military disability compensation benefit concerns.

As such, I shall perform similar actions with the VBA and other specific boards to ensure validation of my remaining concerns while in the DoD IDES process for sure! No worries, it's only a matter of time at this point anyway in my opinion!

Well ladies and gentleman I am rapidly approaching a month from when my case was finished by the VA, and the PEB still hasn't gotten back to my PEBLO. I am loosing it this is just getting ridiculous like seriously cause look at what the VA says for a percentage and match it with the unfitting condition it can't be that hard seriously. Anyway I'm still here still trying

LOL you've been in the process for less time then me, I pretty much have giving up on trying to rush them, especially when I was told I would be a couple of months a year ago. Also remember since your are a reservist, your timeline is supposed to be longer than for active duty members. Be glad your not Army since all those cases that got picked up by Providence are probably been sent to the Personnel Command at the same time creating another backlog for those guys o top of the one it created for the people been rated at providence.

I'm a reservist but i have been on active duty through out this whole process as it was from a deployment injuries and they just kept me on.

Thanks for the words of enouragment fellas. Mcuh appreciated. I will update here as soon as I am updated .

My ebenefits says "evidence past due is requested", anyone else have this comment? My VA rep said its becuase I'm active duty and they want a DD214, but that my package is still good to go.

Yeah mine says that too. Been saying that since October. If VA rep said they have it all, they most likely do. That is the same thing I was told. But the VA and my PEBLO both said they have everything. I think it's in regards to our final documents and such....which we do not have yet because the process isn't over. I believe the whole ebenefits thing is really more geared to veterans and not those who are still on active duty going through the IDES process.

Yea mine has said that for awhile now. And also says Requested Seperation Documents. Which I'm still active and cant supply them with a DD214 yet. Then my VA rep requested a copy of my current orders. So still in limbo wondering where my stuff is at.[/QUOTE]

Ebenefits will say that until you officially get your DD214 in hand and submitted to the va. When ebenefits moves to "preparation for decision" that's when it's time to get excited. This is the most painful part of the process, good luck and know your time will come!

Mine has been in "preparation for decision" for over a month now, I am definitely not excited. I have no clue why its taking long to get a rating.

Quick update I just got my findings back I haven't had much time to review only that I got 90% VA and 80% DOD. I will be talking to the lawyer for this but I am going to accept and get out the door. I'll keep everyone informed and up to date on the timelines still. Thanks again everyone and remember it will happen at some point. Good luck

Freddy, when was your package sent to the VA?

I was found unfit and package was sent to VA on November 14th 2013. As of today Mar 5 2014 I received my ratings. Unfortuantely they were 20% dod and 90%va. I will be rebutting that as they did not find my ptsd as unfitting. I am in Pendleton just so people from around here have a timeline.
