Just a update it's been a while since I have been on. My retirement date came and passed it was June 27th. My final pay hit on the 1st of July which from what I hear is pretty much in par with others. Ebenefits has not changed since march 11th when it went back to gathering evidence requesting seperation docs. Now I find myself checking ebenefits three times a day waiting for the claim to finally be complete so I can hopefully buy a house. I have seen some people on here get lucky and have their claims closed out after two or three weeks I'm just hoping mine is coming close to the end. Thanks to all on here for help getting thru the process.
Can take 1-5 months!

Your retirement pay should hit August 1st

Receive 199 tomorrow. Im already anticipating an appt with Legal to request a Formal PEB. Im hoping they use all the documents I have gathered, conduct the "drug deal" and I never have to go to a board. Does anyone know how common this is?? Also If I do indeed have to attend a formal PEB, how long does it take from day one? For example from date of request how long for the appt and for the board then the decision? Also what to expect at the board?

Yeah I heard that I'm just hoping I get lucky like some people have been lately. It's a good thing I saved some money away because the retirement pay is a lot less than the va pay.

Good deal indeed, and please inform us of your final DoD IDES decision upon receipt of the DA Form 199. Take care! ;)

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!

Does anybody know when the retirement pay statement is posted to mypay.

Hmm, I was told by the military RSO it's around the 15th of each month; but I haven't validated this information to date since the eRAS is available each month upon my logon to myPay!

my retirement date was 27 May and I received my final VA compensation on 7 July. Recommendation--as soon as you receive it, go on to ebenefits to update your dependents (if you have any). They will process and approve that application in 1-2 days.

I hope mine goes as fast as yours my official retirement date was 27 June. But still nothing. As far as the dependents I did that either the va guy during the exit interview.

between the 20th and 23rd of each month.
Is it normal for the first pay statement to not show up. I was hoping to have some proof of pay by now and I am expecting to get my first retirement pay aug 1st but no statement as of yet but at least their is a link for it on mypay

Indeed, in my opinion, if there exists a "link"on myPay, then you shall get paid within the given/posted parameters!

did you also check the "annual eras" link instead of just the monthly eras. It's sort of a weird system because as your situation adjusts, they send you a hard copy ERAS every time you make a change to federal income tax withholding, once your VA waiver kicks etc. I retired on the 27th of May and actually received my first retirement pay deposit on the 1st of June (without an ERAS); then on July 1st, I received the second payment and the ERAS which indicated I had also received the the pro-rated end of May payment. In most cases, it would not be normal for the statement to show up unless the finance office was really backed up with inputting your info.

I have checked both but nothing so far. I am hoping the pay kicks in on the 1st.

Does anyone know timelines for a formal PEB? If I have enough supporting documents is a Formal PEB required? I sign my 199 any day now with 10%dod/80%va

Got and signed my ratings last Tuesday. Not going to do step by step timeline but I started January 30th 2014 and waited 114 days for my ratings and now I just await Transpoc and then whatever else follows. So glad to be just about finished. 100% P & T for VA will help my family and myself going forward. 20% DOD so I will get a decent severance which is needed.

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

Indeed, congratulations on the receipt and acceptance of your IPEB findings inclusive of DoD and DoVA 100% P&T proposed ratings! :D

Ugh!!! Now my case is halted at the PDA level for some reason. I was put in the cases with issues even though I was happy with my ratings and signed my 199. I have no reason why this has happened. It is really frustrating when you can see the light at the end of the tunnel and then someone turns the light out without explaining why.

We'll found out today that dfas screwed up and I won't be getting paid the retirement pay on the 1st

Wow! It really saddens me to hear this type of information; sorry brother! :(

To that extent, when shall you receive your military disability retirement compensation per DFAS?

Right now they don't know. They said my paperwork was finalized a day late. He said can be as early as next week or later he didn't know.
