Timelines post retirement/separation

That's pretty fast dude..I'm guessing this happened because I weighed in and hit you up on this forum. Let me know when they back pay you in the rears and I'll shoot you my addy for my 10% commission, sike! it won't be long, just call and keep pestering and they can look it up. If you state has an ombudsman organization, we in Texas have the Texas Vets Commission, they can look it up in the system and tell you what's up before all the paperwork gets to you
 
Another update! Claim status changed to "Preparation for Notification" and completion date estimates changed to 23JAN16-24JAN16. I'll continue to keep you guys updated... Not sure when I'll receive this 1st payment as I'm sure they have to coordinate with the DoD so that they don't double pay me. So TexTACP, hopefully they get this 1st "rears" payment correctly.
 
My claim is now "Complete" per eBenefits! Disabilities totaling 80%. I am also able to print a VA benefits letter from eBenefits stating the 80%. I called the VA and they said my paperwork would be in the mail today coming from either RI or GA.

The conditions are grouped differently now though.
If they had this grouping on my proposed ratings, I should have had a DoD 50% instead of 30%. Its probably too late for that though... Hmm.

Has anyone received their final active duty pay? I haven't even received that yet. DFAS says it takes 20 days, but I am past that and still no final pay.

I did receive it, depends on when you retire. Best days to retire are between the 24 and 28 of the month that way you get the check right after like usual otherwise it will take half a month roughly
 
my claim status just changed to preparation for decision with an estimated completion time of 02/04/2016 - 02/15/2016

I retired Dec 28 and haven't received my last pay yet.

now that doesnt sound right, have you checked on your mypay? to see your last LES, also you should be able to access your retired pay on mypay as well it came out a few days ago. check and call defas about it
 
anyone know how long it takes from the day the VA receives your package for ratings till they send it back?

I called PSD from my last command and found out my retirement date changed after I was on terminal. It was changed to Dec 4th. I was under the impression I was on terminal the whole time when apparently I was discharged. My DD214 says Dec 28th so they told me they would send me a DD215 in the mail. I was never notified of this date change. I'm not even sure why it was changed while I was on leave. Now I'm wondering to I get paid for my leave days that technically I never used. This is so confusing.
 
Update. So my official retirement date is December 4, 2015 instead of December 28th. Not sure why my date changed while I was on leave but apparently it did. I now owe back the money paid to me on December 15th because its now an overpayment. My VA claim is still at preparation for decision. I have to upload the revised DD215 once I receive a copy in the mail. I will be at two months since retired without receiving my final rating or any compensation. I am pretty confused to say the least. I sat on the phone for over an hour just for the VA rep to "accidentally" hang up on me while I was giving him my name and social.
 
My claim has been completed and rated at 90% however, I have a question. im retired 40% DOD and 90% VA. does dfas payed me 40% and the 90% from the va on the compensation is not showing the full amount with dependents although dependents are listed...it only shows 1370 monthly compensation...does it mean that defas pays retirement and va pays the offset of the total of 90% combined every month? thanks!

I actually wondered the same thing. I just received my first pay from both Dfas and the VA and that is exactly what happened. I was paid by Dfas first. a couple of days later, I got a got a letter from the VA saying that my Dfas pay was deducted and they paid the offset amount. In all, it equaled the total for my VA rating. I don't know how to just receive my pay from the VA since it isn't taxed. Looking into it now.
