IDES Timeline

I really want to know why they don’t have an auto generated tracker that is emailed out once a week to EVERYONE that is pending PEB action. Doing this would literally take half the PEBLOS workload from them and improve the entire process. I wouldn’t have to rely on a dude juggling a large amount people that are on the PEB all at once.

That would be an insane amount of work constantly adding people and deleting people. It would.just be easier for peblos to just be honest about what information they do and don't have. Like if someone asks where their package is, tell them the specifics don't just say oh it's with the peb still. And when asked if they can see specific information just be honest

According to a few posts I’ve seen they’re emailed a tracker every Tuesday that details where the packages are. All I’m saying is I wish we had access to it on a weekly basis without having to request an update and then just be told “at the PEB still”

You guys wanna see something cool? This is the response my Congressman got. It pretty much just says that they'll get to it when they get to it and I'm still getting paid so shut the fuck up and deal with it. Pretty awesome.

"Dear Representative XXX:
Thank you for your email of August 12, 2021, to the Department of the Navy’s Chief of Legislative Affairs requesting assistance for your constituent Machinist’s Mate Nuclear Petty Officer First Class XXXXXXXXXXXXX, United States Navy. Your letter was forwarded to this office for response.
The Department of the Navy’s Physical Evaluation Board (PEB) is part of the Disability Evaluation System (DES) and was established by statute to determine the fitness of Navy and Marine Corps Service members for continued naval service. The PEB’s findings are made after a detailed review using guidelines prescribed by statute and Department of the Navy and Department of Defense policy. If the PEB finds the member is unfit for continued naval service due to a physical or mental disability, he will be retired with a pension and health insurance for himself and his dependents or separated with severance pay depending on the assigned percentage rating from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The PEB received MMN1 XXXXXXX DES case on April 20, 2021. Due to gaps in physician manning, a mandated transition to a new Records Management System, and a large backlog of cases due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the PEB is experiencing unprecedented delays in adjudicating cases. The PEB will adjudicate MMN1 XXXXXX case in the order in which it was received and will notify him when a decision has been made. While remaining on active duty during his DES processing, MMN1XXXXXX will receive full pay and benefits.

I can assure you that MMN1 XXXXX will be given a fair and impartial review of his case and have access to the multiple levels of due process afforded by the DES."

Wow. I can’t say I’m surprised that a government official offered zero assistance or solutions to you or anyone else waiting on the PEB. Not like any of us is trying to make a plan for after we get out or anything.

"...in the order in which it was received..."

Those two bits of info definitely satisfy half of my concerns. It's nice to hear the suspicions verified by an Official somewhere.

All my info was sent up in late May. 27th to be exact. I just got notified this morning that my case with the VA was closed and my proposed ratings will be with my PEBLO in the next 3-5 Days.

My paperwork was submitted to the PEB on April 16th. Today was 111 days at the medical officer, got a call from my PEBLO this morning that is has been signed off by the med officer and is at its final step. Anyone who received findings know how long this last step is?

Sorry for everyone that has a crappy PEBLO, I was fortunate to have a great one. If it's any consolation, they aren't all terrible.

I haven’t been able to get in contact my PEBLO for a month now. The lack of communication is driving me insane.

What about your JAG? It's my understanding that both the PEBLOs and the JAGs get the weekly roster that says where your package is.

I’ve spoken with the IDES paralegal but even the answer they give me is “still at the PEB I can’t give you anymore info than that” I’m kind of getting pissed off because I see everyone else getting actual details about their cases and the only effing answer I get is “at the PEB, call back in a couple weeks”

Yeah I can see where you'd get pissed. Have you tried contacting the JAG in DC that was posted around here?

Nah I won’t contact them until I hit 135 days because that’s the timeline I’ve seen most people getting their results at. I know I’m at like 130 days now so by the end of this week I may send them an email.
