Ohh I understand now. Come retirement age, you get the one benefiting you best (DoD or longevity). Okay ; I think that’s the same thing with CRDP and CRSC, my retirement class say DFAS will give you the best one assuming you qualify for CRSC.No; however, the higher multiplier (DOD or longevity) will be used.
There still will be a VA offset (waiver) dollar for dollar in the amount of VA compensation. You keep any residual retired pay (left over). CRDP will restore the longevity portion of retired pay, BUT the combination of CRDP and residual retired pay cannot exceed the longevity portion of retired pay.
In most cases like yours, the retiree ends up with:
—All their VA comp
—An amount equal to the longevity amount paid by DFAS.
