My Timeline - Currently Waiting on VA for Ratings

That’s what I heard, and i heard it’s dependent on how much leave you babe and most people have been getting an eas that’s a month out from when they signed
Interesting. Seems like there’s no process anymore and people just get what they decide at that moment lol. People at my command are getting EAS 70 days out, most take 30-40 days of terminal.

Just telling you guys what she told me…I was supposed to have findings within a month from my unfit date (Nov4). It’s February…

I get it.. I just hate that they tell us one thing and then it’s nowhere near that, yet they can’t tell us anything new.. the amount of times I’ve been given a timeline and then gone past that is insane. Or told “usually it goes like this but we don’t know why yours is taking so long”.

From another page I am on. This is the current Navy practice. Timelines for separation are dictated by DODI and deviate only slightly, unless someone has a specific situation (PLD, admin hold, short EAOS, etc) that requires deviation.

Absolutely incorrect.

First part was a joke.. we hear so many different things from different people just laughing at the chaos of it all. Second part is what’s happening at my command. We are told 70-90 days out by LIMDU coord and most take terminal plus HHL which is 20 days on its own.

Copy. Your LIMDU Coord needs an education.

Probably the VA backlog if I had to guess.

Lol this entire process is a backlog

Hello Everyone,

I've been lurking in the forum throughout my PEB journey and decided I should post my personal timeline in case it helps anyone out. I'm AD Navy. Feel free to ask questions or commiserate over how long this process takes :)

Referred to IDES: April 22, 2022
Legal Brief: May 9, 2022
C&P Exams Completed: June 9, 2022
Signed MEB Results: September 14, 2022
Case Sent to PEB: September 22, 2022
Found Unfit: November 2, 2022

Currently at 70 days of waiting for VA proposed ratings after being found unfit
I just called the VA, and they told me my claim is still open, and that it’s in the preparation for a decision phase, I’ve been unfit since Dec 02, 22; i also asked for an estimation of when it would be completed and the lady said she doesn’t have one….does anyone know what that means or how long until a decision?

Remember they’re still “clearing the backlog from COVID.”
Give me a break.
Truth. VA has been reporting to DOD and several other oversight entities. They're working pretty hard at it and being pretty transparent.

Good for them. The process was inefficient prior to COVID and is just as inept now.

I’m not sure where you’re getting your information from, regardless, it’s unacceptable that they are the only Department that gets to keep renewing the never ending “Covid Pass”. Covid is not new, the holidays being in December are nothing new. We don’t get to use it as an excuse but good on them and their transparency.

In the meantime, I’ll continue to put my life on hold, pass on job offers, continue to pay two mortgages and submit congressional inquiries until we get some answers. I’m sure the taxpayers would be please to know how much money is wasted paying SM’s that are forced to wait out this process due to absurd and systemic and inefficiencies.

If you want to advocate for the VA, I’d suggest not doing so in a forum of people who are feeling the real life effects of this ridiculously drawn out process.

That’s awesome!! Did they say when ur EAS should populate? Can you keep us updated with when you get it and how far out it is?
No not yet, I got a call from a different peblo handling findings specifically. 15 days to accept or decline. Then then next wait…

Not advocating for the VA at all. I'm on the Navy side and it affects everyone. Just trying to share information and let folks know that its a known issue, no one is hiding it, and theyre actually taking concrete steps to fix it. I sit in on some Teams meetings where things like this come up every once in a while, and this was passed down from SECNAV office level as the information that they got directly from the VA. You may not care what is being done to fix things, but some people do, so I share the information. I get that you're angry and bitter and frustrated, but I'm not the enemy, brother. Just the messenger. Go shoot someone else.
