Yeah. As long as your are happy with it; I share Grizz13's feelings on the matter (except Sister, Bro'ette, Amiga...) lol

does any one know what the current time lines are for fort lewis MEB/PEB. I am not at fort lewis but my case is being handled there. Here is what I have so far,
Phase 1 physical 24 July 2012
Phase 2 physical 08 August 2012
Phone interview with Madigan Doc 06 Sept 2012

I hear that the process has been shortened now and the time line is between 9- 11 months, does anyone know if this is true?

LOL. Yeah it is Bro'ette. I will be signing my DA 199 after I talk with the lawyers. I really want the lawyers to clarify some things for me. My 199 says that my injury was aggraveted when I was in Afghanistan and I have those V codes on my unfit memo V1-No; V3-No; V4-Yes. So that's pretty much it. I wanted severance pay from the beginning. My knee doc said that I will definitely need a knee replacement in the future, so that VA rating will go up.

Look at the newest grad-u-mate from the JBLM PEB Wishing Well's post #233 on this stream. Her packet flew through the system. I am right behind her, took about 3 months longer (but 7 army referred claims). I think the times will do nothing but take longer. My NARSUM was signed and completed mid-Feb and submitted to the PEB the end of Mar. My IPEB is currently waiting to be signed by the PEB.

That is a pretty fast time line. I just hope to be completed no later than May 2013, so that I can move my family and get setteled before school starts next year.

I don't know what the "phase one physicals" are, but it has taken almost a year (from the time I had my first VA appointment) to get to almost getting my IPEB findings. Unless you are expidited, I think May is overly optimistic.

No such thing as phase 1 and 2 physicals in the MEB, only a VA physical...

I agree that May is overly optimistic, it is just wishful thinking.

If you haven't been submitted for the MEB yet, you are probably looking at a MAY 2014 (if everything goes well).

No not that bad, 2 years is not gonna happen, prolly May 2013... eagleone you knuklehead...:D

I am too (a knuckhead), and from the time, I was submitted (Feb - March 2011) for the MEB/PEB process, my VA appointment was Nov 11.
- C&Pen - Dec 11,
- MEB interview -Jan 2012
- NARSUM completed - Feb 2012
- NARSUM submitted to PEB - Mar 2012
- "Typing Phase" - Aug 2012

From the time it was submitted (Mar 2011) to now has been around 18 months and not done yet.

Here is my timeline here at Fort Lewis:

Jan '12: PA checked needs medboard, changed a bunch of 2's to 3's on PUHLES.
14 Mar '12: Had the initial meeting with PEBLO

19 Mar '12: Had appointment with MED Board Doctor with initial physical/assessment

13 Jun '12: Visit PEBLO to find a sign on their door being tasked until 03 August. Go to the PEBLO's at the hospital, they look up their system and can't find any status' on myself. PEBLO says the doctor probably forgot about it, and misplaced the paperwork. She apologized and said it doesn't usually happen, but thanks for my notifying her as I would of just been stuck in the cracks until then. I asked if I should come back and check to see if I was back in the system, she said most definitely come back in a few days to verify everything was on track, and thanks me for being patient.

15 Jun '12: Look on AKO at My MEB/PEB, and the page finally populates with "Date of Physician's Notification of MEB Action as of 14 Jun '12.

18 Jun '12: Visit PEBLO for follow up as requested. Got seen by a different PEBLO who says paperwork doesn't get lost and claims I more then likely forgot to do something or missed an appointment, then goes off by saying I shouldn't be making up information since they are currently handling over 4,000 cases, then proceeds to ask if I got this information from online forums or who else, since everyone's case is unique and its just part of the process... At this point I turned about 45 degrees left in the chair and point to the PEBLO next to her, as she turned around and greeted me again talking about how nice it was outside...

Interesting enough how two different PEBLO's can interpret things, and I know better then to get angry or upset with the people directly affecting my paperwork, and just like to smile and nod, and update the information that I have.

20 Jun '12: Got a call today setting up an appointment for Counselling with a doctor scheduled for 22 Jun '12. Glad to see I am at least back in the process.

STATUS: As of 14 SEP 2012, I had all my VA appointments within the two weeks back in June, a total of 7, since I had those, haven't heard anything, and the PEBLO's aren't sure either, they say they are waiting on VA, VA says they sent stuff a long time ago.

Fun stuff. Is it appropriate to escalate things, or is two and a half months still early in the process for the VA to send back packet to write up NARSUM?

That is way too long, the MEB doc should have them all in hand 1 week after your final C&P exam.

My timeline:
Jan 2011 - Submitted for MEB/PEB
May 2011 - Initial PEBLO brief (phone)
Nov 2011 - Initial VA MSC / PEBLO meeting
Dec 2011 - VA C&P Exams
Jan 2012 - MEB Exam
Feb 2012 - NARSUM signed
Mar 2012 - NARSUM sent to PEB
Jun 2012 - Unfit by PEB
Jul 2012 - VA Proposal (got it through the DAV (my VSO))
15 Aug 2012 - Entered "typing phase"
17 Sept 2012 - Received 199 (Seven referred) 70% referred / 80% VA (with three things deferred)

More than pleased with results. No combat-related. Checking with legal to see if my 25 years of hiding jumping injuries will bite me in the butt for this consideration.

All, Make sure you document injuries. Do as I say, not what I've done...

Thanks I will have to check on this asap! Love the constant re-organization of PEBLO's between units.

I had four PEBLOs thoughout my time. Had three PEBLOs before the first PEBLO appointment, and and than switched out between my C&P and MEB exams. It added a little stress that something would fall through the cracks, but the last two PEBLOs were good bubba(itte)s.

Yes this is helping alot. Is there a way I could go to the VA and see where my DA form 199 is?
VA doesn't write the 199, the PEB does, the VA only rates you on the claims...
