Hello all,

This forum has been invaluable in giving me excellent information and advice in the MEB process. It has been a long time coming for me but I am finally in the process myself and will be documenting my case here. I’ll keep this thread updated with my timeline to assist others in similar circumstances.

Active Duty Air Force - 8+ years of service.
Referred conditions: Moderate Persistent Asthma & Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD) in low back.

Nov 2023 - officially diagnosed with moderate persistent asthma by off base provider.
Jan 2024 - PCM caught the diagnosis and told this is a 'boardable' condition. Had to complete several PFTs. Also have been on a code 31 profile for my lower back for 2/3 years.
(Nov 2023 - Jun 2024 - placed on several different inhalers & pills to try to become stable).
Jun 2024 - Started monthly biologic injection medication due to other treatments not working (was told that being on this med will auto-board me and most likely be medboarded out).
Aug 2024 - PCM advised was being looked at by DAWG.
Oct 2024 - PCM advised my case is being brought up at the local MTF ARMO (occurs biweekly).
Nov 25 2024 - PCM advised my NARSUM has been sent to PEBLO
Nov 27 2024 - Code 37 applied to IMR 469.
Dec 2 2024 - Commander sits down with me to go over and fill out CIS. "Do Not Retain"
Dec 3 2024 - Commander sends CIS to PEBLO.
Jan 7 2025 - Reached out to PCM for update on my case. Wasn't aware if it was submitted to AFPC or not.
Jan 8 2025 - Received email from PEBLO that contained SHA, SHA guide and my FL4. "Full MEB Required"
Jan 13 2025 - First meeting with PEBLO. Went over the IDES briefing. Was told that MSC will contact me within 2 weeks.

Im still awaiting answers to even see if I am getting MEBd for Dupixent biologic and severe persistent asthma. i remember you replying to my thread and not having any updates for your case, glad you are getting some type of turnaround.

I am very interested as I am in the same boat. I am on Actemra Biologic for persistent asthma. I have not been able to complete my APFT and am now beginning the process of going before the medical board. I would love to connect with you and learn from you about the processes you have gone through.

yeah im glad the ball is finally rolling. if i remember correctly, you are supposed to go up for another IRILO in the spring, correct? if so, i'd be messaging the pcm weekly to let them know of your hardships ith asthma and doing your duties/pt that week. and every time you have to get an injection. building a paper trail for when its time to have your case reviewed at your mtf.

I am very interested as I am in the same boat. I am on Actemra Biologic for persistent asthma. I have not been able to complete my APFT and am now beginning the process of going before the medical board. I would love to connect with you and learn from you about the processes you have gone through.

i'm still in the beginning stages but always willing to try to answer questions.

My timeline is almost the same as yours! I signed my 618 on March 8th. I’m hoping my ratings come back as fast as yours! Did you only have those 2 conditions get rated? Sorry to ask, Its just that’s a fast turn around!

I had 2 referred conditions throughout the entire process. When I got my findings, the IPEB added another unfitting condition. So I have a total of 3 unfitting conditions now.
In total, I think I submitted 30 claims to the VA and got rated on about 25 of them.

No update on orders. But honestly, I'm not in a rush to get orders. I know most people are but I'm enjoying the extra paychecks. Plus I have 80 days of leave plus however many days I get for terminal so I'll be on the books for a while.
