Air Force MEB Timeline

I have a question if anyone is able to answer if you have a new diagnosis on top of the ones you already have during the MEB process specifically while it's at the PEB, it doesn't affect anything right? it would only matter if I wanted to add it to my claims, which I don't think will be necessary at this time.

No, most diagnoses need to be treated first and not show any signs of improvement for some months before it becomes unfit for PEB purposes.

Day 49 of 80 still waiting for rating. setting my expectations lower to help with my mental health...
I feel you on that 100%, I just got my findings email from my peblo 20 minutes ago. You should not be too far behind since you went up 2 weeks after me. Call the VA everyday and ask the status of your claims to see, mine closed on the 4th and it only took two days to get everything after that. They only took like a week to rate me too.

I want to be like you hopefully soon! Appreciate the info it's nice to hear people around my timeline are getting their ratings.

I have a VERA appt today. I was told my claim was assigned to a examiner. Does that mean IPEB found me unfit?

Also they said I had 1 claim. Do the just lump all my claims into 1 for IDES? I have 4 VA appts and 32 claimed conditions including 4 disqualifying. TIA

Most likely yes, you're already found unfit, but you can also get in touch with the PEBLO and ask them if IPEB made the fit/unfit decision.

Yes, it's just 1 claim with all of the conditions.

From what my peblo said. If you ho to the VA for ratings you're found unfit bc if you were gonna be returned to duty there is no point in having the VA rate you

I have read multiple times there is no longer a fit/unfit decision notifications sent to PEBLO until ratings come back. Is that something they actually have access too prior to ratings and I just have to convince my PEBLO tell me?

I am Army if that changes anything.

I heard that to and my PEBLO never told me if I was unfit or not, so I just made the assumption when the PEBLO said waiting for VA rating that it was automatically unfit like others said it doesn't make it to the VA if it is fit.

Not sure about the Army, in the Air Force my PEBLO has a VTA tracker where she checked if I was fit/unfit. She didn't get a notification, but she could find the info through the tracker.

I feel like in order to be a PEBLO you should have to of gone through IDES lol that would help so much with proper transparency throughout the process, because the feeling of your future in someone else hands is not fun, and any information would help so much.

I just received a notification on the VA App stating that my claim is in step 2 of 5. (initial review) So you guys should be hearing something really soon! My case was sent to the VA on 6 DEC 2024.

It's weird that your claim is showing up on the VA app at all. Most of ours didn't show up at all until it was closed.
