I got my ratings yesterday and signed them so they should be sent off yesterday or today. While I'm waiting for orders what else should I do for benefits and checking out? I applied for SSDI but was denied because I am still active duty but legal said I can be approved so I appealed. I am currently looking at colleges to get in for the spring semester. All I have to do now is the separation physical, exit va appointment, and just wait for my orders. I can be out in 3 weeks if they come in on time. Can I check out of my command paperwork wise before I get my orders so there are no issues?

Have you cleared CIF yet? If not you can do that with a memo from your command stating that you are awaiting orders. Other than that you need to wait to get your orders in hand.

oh okay, then that is all taken care of. I guess not much I can do accept wait for orders. I can try and do a separation physical without them but i doubt i will be allowed.

Since you went through an MEB you may not have to do the separation physical. AF (at least my base) didn't require my separation/retirement physical since I was MEB'd. Might be worth asking the question.
