Good morning team - thank you ahead of time for your help here. I've been back and forth a few times on the calculations for CRSC, and want to make sure I am understanding everything correctly. I acknowledge that I will be waiting between 90 - 180 days for an answer on my CRSC claim, but looking to better understand the calculations behind all of it.
My background information:
Medically retired Army Infantry Officer
Rank Upon Retirement: O-4
BASD: 08242009
Retirement Date: 09202022
YOS: 12 years, 3 months
VA Rating: 100% Permanent and Total
High-3: $7,247.37
NOTE: This may be off, it's complicated
I was promoted from O-3 to O-4 in June 2020
2020 - 6x months (10 YOS) @ O-3/6x months (10 YOS) @ O-4
2021 - 12x months @ O-4 - 8x months @ O-4 10 YOS + 4 months @ O-4 12 YOS
2022 - 12x months @ O-4 (12 YOS)
High-3xYOS: $2,174.10 (My calculations)
Rating from the Army: 40% (Permanent and Total)
Retirement percent based on 40%: $2,898.95
Retirement amount from DFAS: $3,153.00 (Makes me think my high-3 estimation is off)
100% VA with 2 dependents: $3,971.78
I currently receive $0 from my retirement, due to VA offset.
CRSC claim has been submitted and received by Army HRC, currently under review.
I submitted for my gunshot wound in 2011 - rated by the VA @ 30%, Anxiety/attachment disorder (PTSD), rated at 30%, and tinnitus, rated at 10%.
Claim included PH certificate, medical records, VA claim paperwork, CIB paperwork, and all administrative documents required.
I don't qualify for any other form of retirement.
