Diagnosed Bipolar

I’ve been diagnosed Bipolar 1 from a civilian medical evaluation that was referred out from my current military hospital. The Army BH person I’m dealing with seems to not know anything and it’s leaving me frustrated with a ton of answers.

I was prescribed a medicine for my Bipolar and a profile was discussed. What next?

Do I get put on a profile and that initiates a med board? Do I have to be on profile for a certain amount of time?

My biggest question is when will a MEB be initiated?

Any help is appreciated!

Bipolar diagnosis's typically end in being medically separated or medically retired. If your Army BH agrees with the civilian BH person on the diagnosis you should expect to eventually be put into IDES and separated from service one way or the other.
