eBenefits

Contact your OMBUDSMAN, or file a complaint (if you want). That is your point of contact. When you call the VA, they even tell you to inquiry through your MSC.
correct however due to the process, they do not have to do anything for you in the meantime until your ratings are complete or finished. They can look up your case and give you information however they do not have to do any of those things..

First time I’ve heard that. I’ve been told by every other resource “Contact your MSC”.

My status as of 15 May from the VA, no word from the PEB/ PEBLO yet (the PEB has had my packet from the VA for almost a month). BTW since I am still active duty the VA did not send the decision to me. From what I understand, the PEB reviews the VA rating decision then forwards the 1099's to the PEBLO. If I am wrong hopefully someone will clarify. I am hoping I'll have the 1099's NLT 15 June (that'll be about 90 days since my unfit notice).

"Your claim decision is ready
We finished reviewing your claim on May 15, 2019. We sent you a packet by U.S. mail that includes details of the decision on your claim. Please allow 7 to 10 business days for your packet to arrive before contacting a VA call center. If you haven’t received the packet with the full details of your claim decision yet, you can see your rating by going to your disability page in eBenefits".

Good morning,

I apologize for any misunderstanding but the MSC is not the point of contact to update you on VA Ratings. We do not have any control over the period of waiting, your case is pending that action and I can only refer you the [email protected] where you can log in and get your status (which is general info). Until your PEBLO gets the VA Ratings in and finish up your IDES PEB there’s no other information to provide. Thank you for your inquiry.

This is the last email I received from my MSC

They're so full of it. They're literally the liasson between the VA and the army

yea, I have come to the realization that I am going to be getting outside assistance at this point to start putting together my arguements for the storm to come.

My PEBLO and I have both on separate occasions reached out to my MSC and was told that my packet was as at the rating site and he did not have access to any additional information. I've given up even contacting my MSC at this point since his replies are normally along of the lines of he will contact me when my ratings are finished for a final outbrief, and then drops the conversation.

Im still in the prep for decision stage.
It's been there for weeks.
A person in my unit has had his case sent to PEB even though his was sent after mine.

Have you tried contacting your MSC or the VA directly?

My MSC acts like she cant see anything more than what's on the va site...same with the VA but with then ebenefits site

I just moved to the prep for decision stage today. Scared me though since you’ve been waiting awhile on that stage.

So update to my 79 day since 26 Mar and waiting for ratings situation I have been asking questions for the last week now had my peblo reach out to MSC (va rep) to see what's going on. MSC claimed they couldn't see anything that was wrong or needed and it was with rater and she would email the va for follow up should take 48 hours to hear back that was last week. Checked back this week gave them 6 days not 48 hours and she said no response yet she would email again Roger that I see where this is going. So me being tired of the 1800 customer service reps giving me the same info on ebenefits and everyone else with the clueless I don't know why it should be back by now responses . I did some research saw a thread that said they called the regional office directly so that's what I did today, and was told by a gentlemen that they sent out a request for more info about my knees mind you this is not one of my unfitting conditions but hey I get it its apart of my claims. So I politely leave work and go to my peblos office to share the information and he makes a call to the Hampton VA and at first they say they don't see a request everything was completed in March …...THEN bam she says ...oh wait they sent one 06/13 lol yes TODAY for more information to complete the claim on my knee. Hmmm what are the chances of that being I just spoke to the regional office asking what's the hold up and now there is a request less than an hour later. So now I'm waiting to see the doctor again for an deferred condition addendum which is what they called it basically more information on my knees. Folks do not just sit back and let your claims GROW FEET!! :rolleyes:inquire about your case not blaming the VA this is not a bash the VA thread at all even though its a little fishy lol. I get it they have a lot of cases not sure what happened with mine but clearly someone dropped the ball along the way and if I wouldn't have inquired I wouldn't have found out what the hold up is. So I'm not sure how much longer this is going to take but at least I know I'm not crazy and something should have happened by now. Luckily I have a Peblo that at least tries to help more than most I read about. Just wanted to share perhaps this will help someone in the future that's the least I can do since I'm help less in my own situation at the moment. I am a believer now that after 60 days you should be asking questions. Good Luck to all.

Preach. I’ve done most of the foot work myself through this whole process. I call the regional VA office almost daily, inquiring about my packet. They don’t care. You have to make sure people are doing their jobs yourself. If they say they sent something back for clarification, I call QTC, and verify they have the clarification. Two days later, I call QTC to verify they sent it back to the VA. They sent my packet back for clarification 3 times..

Moral of your story and my story, don’t let someone tell you “I sent an email, so I’m waiting for a response”. If they see you’re just a “ok thank you” type of person, you’re going to be pushed around.

Dont stress too much. Not sure why my case is taking forever however a guy in my unit just had his case closed. He submitted his narsum after mine. There is some hope!

Definitely!
I've been calling the VA hotline, MSC and PEBLO almost every day pushing for info. I finally got through to my MSC to speak to the VA to inquire about the hold up so hopefully I can tell yall good news soon.

You call the 1-800 number for the VA or do you have a more direct number ?

I call the 1-800 #. I get many different people to answer when I call that knows nothing and are not helpful, but there’s one specific lady that sometimes I can get ahold of. I only know her by her voice lol. But she’s very helpful and she tells me exactly where my packet is at. She’s also knowledgeable because she went through the MEB process herself.

Does anyone know why a case was opened and then closed?

Re: eBenefits

Interpreting eBenefits info can be frustrating since it is not updated directly by a human being (per several long-term VA employees). eBenefits takes information from other VA systems. In other words, it is a pirate system.

The following is how eBenefits defines the "completion of claim" information:

"The time it takes to complete your claim depends on factors like the type of claim and the type of disability claimed.

The estimated dates are based on a statistical analysis of historical processing times for similar claims. Some things you should know:

--Historical data may not accurately predict current conditions. Your claim may take longer.
--Dates may change as the statistical analysis is updated.
--Some claims will take longer than the range of dates given as they are based on an average.
--Submitting the supporting documentation that has been requested quickly and electronically is the surest way to get your claim decided as quickly as possible."

I know this does not answer your question, but the answer could be any one of myriad possibilities.

Good luck...I hope good news is forthcoming.

Ron
