Fibro MEB

Hello,
I’m going to try to keep my story short but I got diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 6 months ago and my doc said that my name came down for an MEB. I was first told that I had to be on a profile for a year and then was just told a few days ago that they’re starting the paperwork for an MEB. I have absolutely no clue what the process is like. I’m fine with getting separated. My quality of life is awful and I’m not going to fight to stay in.
Can anyone tell me what kind of process I’m looking at and what kind of time frame I’m looking at? And what determines the ratings for fibro? I haven’t been in long, just shy of 3 years.
Thank you for any information you can pass along.

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

For starters, it's a great idea to obtain a basic comprehension of the DoD IDES MEB/PEB process via the following URL:

http://www.pebforum.com/resources/dod-manual-1332-18-volume-2.53/

Then, upon completion, I would suggest that you review the 38 CFR VASRD §4.71a Schedule of ratings—musculoskeletal system, "Acute, Subacute, or Chronic Diseases" 5025 Fibromyalgia (fibrositis, primary fibromyalgia syndrome) criteria at the following URL:

https://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-i...4c33b5ef6&mc=true&node=se38.1.4_171a&rgn=div8

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer!"

Best Wishes!

How did you go about getting diagnosed? They think I have lupus but test came back negative I have a lot of the symptoms for fibromyalgia but my PCM hasn’t mentioned fibromyalgia yet. I don’t know what to do.
