IPEB

My MEB is complete as of 30 Apr and the paperwork was mailed out today! I have been refered to the IPEB. Does this mean that I will get a disability rating? How long should this process take?

Just wondering, how long did it take for your MEB start to finish?

And I'm happy for you-that you're done with the first part...sorry I don't know the answer to your question-I'm still in the beginning of all this mess.

I have been refered to the IPEB.

Mine went the same route. But mine came back "Return to duty". It took about 35 days or so.

I started the MEB on 20 Apr was when he had all my stuff so about 9 days. That was after I got all my required information. I was first referred to the MEB on 2 Apr.

Remember, you will only get a rating if your conditions are unfitting (prevent the reasonable performance of duties of someone of your grade and MOS/AFSC/Rating).

I would think that not being able to deploy would be considered unfit. My commander wrote a letter that basically suggest putting me out. I had two specialist send summaries that states my condition is permanent and is not likely to improve in the future.
The NAR/SUMMARY sent to the IPEB: Final Diagnosis: posteror tribal tendonit, hallux rigidus and pes plano valgus bilaterally-pronation bilaterally, tried orthotics, cortozone injections and surgery was not recommended by two specialist.

The doctor also mentioned my Obstructive Sleep Apnea with CPAP on my IPEB paperwork.

DoD had a long standing policy that non deployability could not be the sole reason to find a member unfit. Last December, DoD modified this policy and stated the Services could use non deployability as the sole reason for finding a member unfit. Unfortunately, the Services have yet to change their Service regulations to to match this policy and they may have monetary motivations not to do so.
