Losing Sleep

It's not like the military exactly allows you to always get 8 hours of shut-eye a night, but has anyone found they're really suffering from lack of sleep during their MEB/PEB?

Working 12 hour night watches, and all your appoinments are geared around day shift people, it becomes hard or near impossible to get a continues 8 hours of sleep. I don't think anyone would disagree.

I'm in your shoes, only my midwatches are a little less than 12 hours. It's brutal, especially when you work weekends to fit your appointments in during the week. Going 7 days a week sucks.

i've been out on con-leave through the majority of my MEB and i sitll can't get sleep. when i was @ work i still did'nt get much sleep. if i'm lucky enough to actually fall asleep before midnight, i end up waking up @ around 0300 and cant go back to sleep, so when i wake up @ around 0600 i find my self nodding out through-out the day. it's a lose, lose situation. have you tried any sleep meds? if not i find that sometimes meatonin works for me and you can by that @ WALMART or any local pharmacy. can't hurt to try that if you already have'nt.

my dentist, of all people, gave me something to help me sleep, and worked at first, but doesn't seem to do much good any more. looks like we're all in about the same boat then. what a PITA.

Pity Party! I'll bring the hats and someone gets the wives to bake a cake! :D

What's Sleep?

I heard it from an ancient Greek myth. Turns out there was this one wise old philosopher, who refused to work long days, and would go to his bed at night and relax until he drifted off to the land of dreams. Then a bunch of gods got all angry and some naked godesses came down and somehow he wound up getting turned into a cat because all they ever want to do is sleep.

I don't think I'd mind being a cat. 9 lives, sleep 16 hours a day, eat all the time, harass the dog, always have that look of smug superiority. ;)

I dreamed I was a night watchman and stayed up all night. Seriouly, sleep disorders are dreadful and really impact your quality of life. I think Jason's sleep problem centers around the Spurs.

I've said for about 10 years now that I don't sleep good at all. Finally the doc put me in for a Sleep Apnea test and failed. I have severe sleep apnea. I still wake every morning around 02:00 to 03:00 even now after having the machine for about 2 months. Must be the unsettling condition of my nervers and yes... the MEB process does not help matters for worrying about the results.

Are you taking pills for Sleep Apena? I received 50% for Sleep Apena on one of my ratings. Have you been fitted for a machine yet?
