I was PDRL in 2014. 100%DoD, 100%VA and last month 100% CRSC with 6 years of back pay. I read through all the HR 1282 legislation and am still confused

My total retired pay @75% of high 3 COLA adjusted is $6173. $4072 is VA offset, DOD portion is $2100 and CRSC is $538

If the legislation passes, would concurrent receipt be $6173 (full DOD at 75% because of Chap 61 retirement) + $4072 (VA) OR longevity DOD ~ $2638 + VA $4072 which would be no change and default to CRSC because of the tax advantage?

Hello @maronedp ,

There are a couple of folks on this board who provide CRDP/CRSC estimates.

Personally…I am waiting for the legislation to be passed and the explicit details revealed, before I educate myself on the STAR ACT.

Copied to @Provis .

Good luck,
Ron

I agree with Ron. Its all speculations and since the text can be changed before passing it doesn't make sense to focus on it. Even correct information now might be wrong if and when it passed.

Without official legislation not much can be said. However, I do know that you will get your DoD percentage calculated at 75%, but then it will be reduced to whatever your longevity pay would be based on your YOS before your disability retirement.

Thank you.

I believe most of the mods on this board have seen the proposed legislation.

Proposed legislation rarely is made law. When proposed legislation makes it through to become law, it nearly always is tweaked along the way.
