Need some Info!

Alright, so I've been underoing an MEB since October, and I finally got my ratings today, 50% permanent retirement, and according to my BEL I am 90% VA Disability rated. I called my MSC to discuss and he said that as far as he can see, I am rated at 100% per the actual VA rater. So basically, I am in a weird position now and that 10% makes a huge difference. I was diagnosed with a meningioma last year, underwent a craniotomy and only a part of the tumor was removed. I have been recovering, albeit very, very slowly and painfully since then. Overall, my VA ratings equal 480% (VA math, amirite?) Anyone have any information on this? Or has anyone seen this mistake before? My MSC says there was a mistake when whoever wrote my BEL was writing it, and I am 100% and not to worry, that when I sign my papers it will reflect the 100%. My Peblo says, what's on the paper is probably the truth. Being discharged from the Air Force with a brain tumor, I was assuming 100% was coming my way, which not to sound greedy, I was also expecting- considering I have a 9 year history of back, knee, spine, shoulders issues etc. to go along with a brain tumor still in my head.
Any info would be appreciated!
Thanks,

I would hire a civilian lawyer to look into and appeal. Do you happen to be a C-17 LM in WA?

Did you claim any secondary conditions
to meningioma?
  • Changes in vision, such as seeing double or blurring.
  • Headaches that are worse in the morning.
  • Hearing loss or ringing in the ears.
  • Memory loss.
  • Loss of smell.
  • Seizures.
  • Weakness in the arms or legs.
  • Trouble speaking.
If so those should also be rated as unfitting. Lawyer up. Getting what you are due is in no way greedy.

The headaches are the main secondary condition, a few other conditions are applicable but they're all included. I just don't understand how all of my proposed ratings didn't add up to 100% (assuming that there wasn't actually an error in the paperwork, but with my luck it could be just that.) Here's to hoping, I should have some more information in the coming days. Was just wondering if anyone has ever seen an "error" like this.

I suspect it is 100. Request a higher level review. The VA has a chart to help with VA math. If you put your ratings in order from highest to lowest we can check the math.

Sure thing-
70,50,40,40,30,30,30,20,20,20,20,20,10,10,10,10,10

I started to wonder if the 50% DoD rating was impacting it at all, but with my "math" and the 2 VA calculators I was able to find, it all equaled to 100%.
Thanks for the help!
