PDRL on DEERs?

I retired a couple of months ago, was placed on TDRL. I was updating my mailing address on milconnect and on the DEERS portion it says PDRL. I was 100% P&T by the VA; could the DOD have moved me from TDRL to PDRL without notification or is it a DEERS error?

Possibly Deers error...they usually get the information "you" gives them. I remember doing my medical retirement ID, everything was fine BUT DEERS did NOT check the box for "PDRL" in their system. By not doing that, the Tricare Office says I would have to fix that if I want the "free Tricare Select" for medically retirees. I went back to DEERS, I informed them to check the "pdrl" box in their system. They did it and Tricare saw it and became free.

So I say that to say, they sometimes make their own errors and not a DOD problem. So DOD still see you as TDRL especially if you haven't had the re-examination yet.

Thanks! That makes perfect sense, I remember now; probably the reason for the ID only having a 3 year shelf-life.
