Pearl Harbor Timeline

I've seen a couple of these tables showing the districts broke down, but when talking to my MSC and a rep at the national hotline they said that there is a regional office set up for IDES cases and that it's different than the normal BDD cases. Does anyone know if this is the true? As a side note my wounded warrior rep (who has been giving me the best updates so far) said they are currently averaging between 60 and 90 days at the VA. She said expect closer to the longer end because of the Holidays. 1733503711674.png

Yes, I’m stationed overseas and my MSC in the Northeast Region, which is the Regional Office area on my profile.
 
Yes the IDES cases all go through the VA Rating office in Providence, RI For Navy and most branches and Army goes through DRAS Seattle VARO.

Thanks for sharing that. So the Monday morning report at least for us is moot? Or would the statistics they have for RI apply?

Those stats are all moot. The last update I saw was about 40-50 days behind in initial ratings for DRAS for IDES. Then they are about 1000 cases behind on the final ratings once you are out in order to be paid.

Also nothing. I keep thinking you’ll get yours right before me, I’ve been at the VA since 10/7. Although I did get this email a couple of days ago, that’s semi interesting:

Have you received any emails about the touchpoint?
 
Does the VA start working your claim only if you are found unfit or do they start working it as soon as the C&P exams and medical evidence is received by them?

My VA rep told me that they used wait to start your ratings until after you were found unfit by your branch's PEB. People used to believe that if your ratings were complete by the VA that pretty much meant without a doubt you were found unfit. Per my VA rep that is NOT true any more. They assign ratings no matter what now because of how long it takes to do them. My claim was submitted for ratings in July. My case closed with the VA on 30OCT. I was found unfit by my PEB on like 26OCT. If the VA had waited to rate me until after I was found unfit my ratings wouldn't have been done until now or even early next year.

That makes sense. I am trying to understand when the VA actually starts working on claims for IDES. I wish this was public knowledge. I am sure its buried in some VA instruction somewhere on what exactly happens. I've got nothing else to do, I might try to find it lol. Theoretically, the clock should start when you submit your claimed conditions and based on the national average of time to complete a claim of 150 days, that puts it at 5 months and if it happens concurrently with the MEB/PEB then the ratings results should be shortly after the PEB results. VA backlog has a hand in the timelines I'm sure as well as other variables we aren't aware of. Sorry for rambling.

I think I was pretty fortunate that my claim got handled relatively quickly by the VA. I was found unfit by the PEB and my VA claim was closed a few days later. So the PEB was able to turn around and issue a rating for my unfit conditions really quick. Now I've been waiting on a final signature for a month. The whole process makes no sense. I am seeing guys on here that started their MEB 4 months after me get their separation orders and get out. The timeline is all made up.

Is anyone here on a similar timeline to me? I've been waiting a total of 115 days since I signed my NARSUM on 18AUG24, the VA closed my claim 07NOV24, and I'm still waiting on my PEB findings.

That seems broken, I am hoping that it doesn’t take that kind of time to hear back from PEB, my VA just closed. PEBLO or attorney have any insight?

Very similar timeline. I finally just requested to speak to my PEBLO's supervisor and suddenly there is a way to expedite my final signature. I have been pending the final signature from the PEB for a month but I have a job that starts soon and need to wrap this up. They had me send them a 5 W's and they submitted an expedite request to the PEB this morning. Advocate for yourself man. Request to speak to supervisors or whatever you have to do. I am almost a full year into this process but I've seen people on here getting out after only 6 months. No method to the madness.

Unfortunately i dont think i can say anything pressing to expedite it, i dont have any responsibilities that are awaiting this (job, eaos, college, etc). The only thing i have is how long its been taking and thats it. It just sucks bc i have a kid coming around the corner in 2-3 weeks and i would like to start my transition process asap so it doesn’t bleed into my baby leave :/

All im going to say is they didn't ask for any proof that I have employment locked in. I really do but all they asked for was the who, what, when, where and why. My PEBLO put that in PDF format and submitted it to the PEB as a request to expedite. A lot of people on here were telling me they will not expedite anything due to employment. I literally just lived it this morning so it is a real thing.

So far my proposed rating from the VA is 100% w/ A&A
