Question on Leave

I am currently in the DOD VA pilot program and I have posted before. Yesterday, my PEBLO contacted me and stated the local board is convening and then she asked how much leave I had and if I have ever sold any back. I am AD AF with 19 years. Does anyone know why she would have asked this question? Also, she stated she would brief me on the local board results early next week so I will keep the forum updated on the results. For the DES PILOT program, my case was referred in Aug 09, so I should be able to provide a decent timeline for start to finish. If anyone knows why leave amount is being asked, I would appreciate the reply.

You can only sell back up to 60 days of leave. Therefore, if you have already sold leave back in your career, for example when you reenlisted or if you had a break in service, it would have to be accounted for.

The reason is; iif they need to force you to sell back leave, then they know how much. You can only sell back 60 days in a career.

So if you are found unfit can you take any leave you have or do you have to sell it back? My wife is about to have a baby next month and my results should be back by then and I dont want to get screwed not being able to take any leave for that.

Once you are found unfit and receive your orders then you can coordinate your Sep date with your amount of days left on leave. For instance I had 45 days of leave. Scheduled to Separate on Sept 27....ended up leaving mid August. So, hopefully all is taken care of with your board and all so that you can get home to see your child's birth. Good luck and CONGRATS! I just had one of my own, and it is such a blessing! Boy/Girl/Surprise? Anyway-keep in touch! Let us know how you make out.
