Request for CRSC Calculation

Not sure anyone would know the answer to this. I retired out with a retirement date of 7May22. I received my first CRSC payment on 1October22. I called DFAS to check on any backpay, just because I could use it right about now, and the rep said the payment has been “processed” but has not been “issued/released for payment”. Does anybody know what that means? Should I expect the payment?
Usually, any retroactive CRSC due is paid within 60 days after the initial payment. It appears the computation has been completed.

What did the rep tell you when you asked for clarification of what that meant in wait time?

I asked him if I could expect it on the 1st and if he could give me an expected amount. He said couldn’t disclose the amount because it’s proposed an that was all!

Retro payments are not limited to the 1st day of a month. They occur throughout a month.

Payment of retro CRSC is usually accomplished within 60 days of the first regular payment.

Good luck,
Ron

Hello @Emart

Your CRSC will be the lesser of:
a. The amount found in the VA compensation tables for 40% (with the dependents you listed0
OR
b. Longevity portion of retired pay

1. 3515/70% = 5021.43 high three
2. 17.083 years 2.5% = 42.71% longevity multiplier
3. 5021.43 x 42.71% = 2144.65 longevity portion of retired pay
4. 40% CRSC with spouse and 2 children under 18: 801.28 plus 36 = 837.28

5. Your CRSC = 837.28
