TDRL pay time

I was placed on TDRL and my dos is at the end of october. i was wondering how soon from when i get out, should i expect to receive my disability checks from the air force? Is it instant, or is it like the VA and i have to wait 3 months?

Sorry can't help. I get out of USAF to TDRL on 09/28/2010 (Tomorrow) and the only thing I got from DFAS was a change of address notification-I did not change my address-but maybe that means they are looking at things. I did receive a retirement certificate a month ago. Hope you get pay info. soon Hope I do too.
 
You can't receive active duty pay and retirement pay in the same month.

joeyd, when is your retirement date? On the 1st of the month after your retirement date, you may receive a pro-rated retirement payment. If not, the next month you will definitely receive a pro-rated payment for your last month of active duty and the full month of retirement that they owe you for.
 
TDRL and DFAS HELP PLEASE Before I go crazy!!!! My husband was placed on TDRL 09/28/2010 (they think 2 incurable cancers will go away I guess). He got pay statement and it 1-shows no offset with the VA (he has been receiving at the 100% level for 3 years-the delay in being put on TDRL was a LOD issue they screwed up bad) 2. Taxes are being taken out, end he entered service before 09/24/1975. When we call DFAS they say they know nothing about his receipt of VA benefits and they say it is not combat related so it is taxed. He has 20 years letter with Guard but he is not 60 yet so I don't think he is entitled to dual compensation yet. Being in service prior to 09/24/75 has nothing to do with combat related-it is tax free if your pay is based on a disability %-he got 100 % TDRL. I quoted their own DOD manual and they just say to write them. How long till they respond and fix it???? DFAS is rediculous to get someoine to actuually answer a question. Every form everyone has touched has been wrong. NGB 22 (record of service for guard-very wrong enlistment date in our favor. Who can help fix this stuff? Does anyone have any contacts or can lend some advice before I go nuts. Thanks
