Waiting for FPEB Results and Impatient

Hey everyone,

I've looked through this forum a lot throughout my process, but never posted, so I'll give a brief overview. I'm an active duty Navy linguist diagnosed with idiopathic hypersomnia. My MEB/PEB started in August last year. I was found fit, appealed, and found fit again. I was going to leave it at that but they told me I was going to a formal PEB, then COVID happened, and it turned into a telephone FPEB. I just completed it last week, but they said I won't get the results for 2-6 weeks and I'm dying of impatience.

Has anyone had experience with waiting for the results? Especially with over the phone boards? Do you think I'll be found unfit? If so, how long do you think out processing will take, especially considering COVID?

I know I didn't give a whole lot of information, I don't want to go on too long of a rant, so if you need more information let me know.

Hi Alsals89. My husband is going to FPEB, but wants to be found fit. It would be great if they would create a program to match service members with the same MOS, who want to be found fit with deployment limitations, with service members who want out. I don't think it helps with Total Readiness to keep people in who want out. I hope you get the results you want. My husband needs a refrigerator for his medication to deploy...and his job doesn't even offer many deployment opportunities. Branch was telling him that most people have to look really hard to find a deployment assignment.

What was your VA rating for idiopathic hypersomnia?

Yes i had my FPEB on Feb 10th at 8:00am CST and still have not received my results i am in the same position as you i have 18 yrs 5 months 29 days of service.

I sent an email to my PEBLO yesterday and she said my file was currently sent back to the VA for Rating because in my FPEB i was fighting to get my injury service because it happen on a BA drill weekend they said i had enough proof so they were going to send my paperwork to GRC to make a LOD determination so i guess it was positive and now they need a rating from the VA originally the VA gave me zero rating because it was not service connected so hopefully this time i should get a least a 50%.

I'm hoping that by now this has been resolved, so I was wondering what came of it. I'm currently in the PEB phase due to IH with 18 y 9 mo. of service. The way the VA exam was written up, I'm concerned the rating they're going to come back with will be under the 30% mark.

My issue has not been resolved yet it is still at the VA for a rating decision in Nov 27 i will hit the 19 1/2 year mark i just want to retire whether it's with a disability or regular retirement.
