When do people receive AF Severance pay?

Hello, I'm reaching out to see if anyone knows if folks' severance checks are part of their last paycheck that’s delayed or when one could expect to receive them. DFAS and my local AF base finance weren’t helpful at all.

Its not quick. Think months not days.
 
I heard that, but looking for something a little more concrete to plan around.

Its too hit and miss to really plan for. I would plan for 3-6 months. Might come in a bit sooner or later. DFAS has to calculate the amount and so it goes to a team to manually compute and approve the amount. The larger the amount the more levels of approval required to issue the payment.
 
Thanks. Mines around $125K after I submit a ticket to recoup the 32% tax withheld

Have you received your severance pay yet? People seem to go quiet after thay've gotten what they want so I'm hopeful yours didn't take too long.

Yes I received it two weeks after I got out. Aug 1st and Aug 4th my VA claims finalized
