Army Case Timeline, Whats next? Fort Jackson

Dang. I started in January. I waited for my NARSUM for 5 months. Waiting for the final signature on my 199 now. Crazy how the process can be so different for people.
I’m sorry to hear you’ve been waiting that long. I’m in the SRU, I’ve heard that sometimes speeds the process up but I have no clue if that’s valid. I hope you get your 199 soon.

Its all good. My new job doesn't start until March and there's no way I'm just going to be waiting on a signature for 3 months. My MSC gave me my percentages two weeks ago and based on the DOD and proposed VA I'm not going to have to appeal anything. So it should be rapid fire once I get that 199.

So when everyone that had their Va case closed, did you guys also receive an email or just kept checking the Va app? Also once Va started processing your case did it show the steps or anything to show the process started ?
I got an email from the VA and once you get the email if you login, it will show your are on step 5 and nothing else will be updated until you are out

Oh okay so now I know I don’t gotta check the app everyday was it to the email you put on the Va forms from the msc ?

Im where you guys are at. Started the MEB in January. Narsum was submitted in September. Case closed with the VA 30 OCT. My PEBLO would tell me nothing but my VA MSC told me my DOD and VA ratings. Finally my PEBLO just told me I'm at the "PEB Signature" phase on 20 NOV. Does anyone know how long that final signature has been taking for people? I have a great job lined up but my PEBLO just flat out ignores me when I tell him that.
My case closed for the VA Oct 31 and I finally signed my 199 on Nov 27 and get orders tomorrow. If you haven’t gotten them hopefully you will soon. I asked my peblo everyday until I got it

UPDATE: No 199. MSC submitted my job offer and says its waiting for DERAS in Seattle, not sure what that means anyone here know?

They didn’t give you your ratings? My 1sg told me today that I am almost at the last step before I get my orders, but I haven’t got told that I am unfit or anything. But my peblo did say that my case was forwarded to the Va side. So idk anymore I am confused. Hope you get your stuff soon

No they did not unfortunately.

DRAS in Seattle are the VA raters that rate IDES cases. If your ratings aren't back from them yet you still have some time brother.

My time line:

January 2024- Referred to MEB
February- Met my PEBLO/ MSC
April/ May- VA Exams began
July- Last VA exam uploaded to TOL/ MSC submits exams for ratings
September 5th- Signed my NARSUM/ Submitted to PEB
October 30th- Case closed with the VA (Ratings are finished)
***So for me it took from July to the end of October for my ratings to finish***
November 14th- My PEBLO wouldn't tell me anything but my MSC gave me my ratings both DOD and VA
November 26th- I got super impatient with the lack of information and my PEBLO told me I was put on the final "PEB Signature" step on November 20th.

I should get my 199 any day I guess. Longest year of my life and I've been in the Army for over 10 years. Something my MSC told me I think everyone needs to know is that the VA rates your conditions no matter what now. People used to assume they were found unfit if they contacted the VA and had ratings because it used to work where the VA would not rate you until you were found unfit. Per my MSC the VA rates you no matter what now in the event you are found unfit. They do this because it can take months for the ratings to come back. It took from July to the end of October for the VA to rate me. I was found unfit in October. If the VA had waited to start my ratings until October they wouldn't have been done until next year.

Im honestly about to ask to talk to his supervisor. My chain of command is accusing me of "stalling" the Medboard for financial reasons. I just want to get out of here. I have a great job that starts in March. My ratings have been done for weeks but my 199 isn't ready. Thats why the PEBLO's don't like to tell you your ratings until the 199 is ready. It makes no sense that my ratings have been done for like a month but the 199 isn't available yet.

It's insane to think that I've been in the PEB for 13 Weeks and not have even been found unfit till last week. Supposedly my MSC got ahold of the rating team and is making sure that the action gets expedited, he requested my Formal fed offer and submitted it i see the documents on my claim so hopefully i dont wait any longer.

Yeah man. I started the PEB in early September and there's still no telling when my 199 will be ready. Ive been waiting on the final signature for two full weeks.

Christ almighty, this process is the most important annoying thing ever, although I'm sure it is way better than what our predecessors had to deal with. Patience is the key, and not making any real plans is probably the most effective way to not stress...

Honestly if I was a PEBLO I would just tell people to expect 12 -15 months. I was told 10 times I would be on terminal leave in September or October at the latest. That estimate wasn't even close.

My peblo stated 10-12 weeks i should be clearing near Thanksgiving... LMFAO the ball was dropped and I wasnt even found fit till Thanksgiving this stuff is just commical.

Update: MSC stated my case was move to the top of the file at the VA as of yesterday and stated today that there are now proposed ratings PEBLO states they cant see them yet! whats next?
