Army Case Timeline, Whats next? Fort Jackson

DRAS in Seattle are the VA raters that rate IDES cases. If your ratings aren't back from them yet you still have some time brother.

My time line:

January 2024- Referred to MEB
February- Met my PEBLO/ MSC
April/ May- VA Exams began
July- Last VA exam uploaded to TOL/ MSC submits exams for ratings
September 5th- Signed my NARSUM/ Submitted to PEB
October 30th- Case closed with the VA (Ratings are finished)
***So for me it took from July to the end of October for my ratings to finish***
November 14th- My PEBLO wouldn't tell me anything but my MSC gave me my ratings both DOD and VA
November 26th- I got super impatient with the lack of information and my PEBLO told me I was put on the final "PEB Signature" step on November 20th.

I should get my 199 any day I guess. Longest year of my life and I've been in the Army for over 10 years. Something my MSC told me I think everyone needs to know is that the VA rates your conditions no matter what now. People used to assume they were found unfit if they contacted the VA and had ratings because it used to work where the VA would not rate you until you were found unfit. Per my MSC the VA rates you no matter what now in the event you are found unfit. They do this because it can take months for the ratings to come back. It took from July to the end of October for the VA to rate me. I was found unfit in October. If the VA had waited to start my ratings until October they wouldn't have been done until next year.
I started my process in may but I submitted my narsum august 7th and I still have no ratings. I have been waiting for the final signature since October 28th. I was just told today I could submit a job offer to expedite the process do you think it would be worth it still? My Peblo said it should be any day now but who knows with the va.

Talk to your MSC and tell them you have a job with a hard start date. Mine was amazing told me that the VA hasn’t looked at my rating in months and requested them to put mine on top of the pile and they did. It was rated in a day 21 total claims… should help. But first make sure that the PEB has found you unfit or the MSC won’t do anything for you

I called the va and they said my ratings are done and I will get the letter as soon as I ETS and they didn’t know what a DA199 is so they assumed it was a DOD thing and to ask my Peblo. All my Peblo does it say that I’m waiting on my final signature on a da199 and then I can start the clearing process.

The PEB is what’s holding a lot of people up there’s a ton of people going through this issue. Also the DOD in general does very limited amount of work around the holidays. Hope you get it soon

Congratulations glad that expedited memo helped you and hope the rest of the process goes great.

Following for timeline. I was given a P3 today and have my first MEB briefing 9 JAN. I am AGR and trying to get to my 20 year mark which is 3 OCT 25.
I am concerned since when I got off active duty in 2015 I received 90% from the VA. Came back on T10 the next year. Right now I have right at 7200 creditable points towards retirement. Just wondering if I can drag this process out till next OCT. I have 60 days of leave saved up and 6 months of 1405 time which should count right?

You for sure can, stall like a mf and there’s a massive backlog now… I’d ask a lawyer to help you rebuttal everything you possibly can in this process

I am freaked they will cut me off with like 1-2 months left.

I believe there are some members in here like PROVOS my response was based off of what I’ve seen on this forum. I Believe JAG will support you in attempting to elongate the process. Reach out to @Provis he seems to know a ton more than me on these matters.

You will highly likely make your 20 based on how long the MEB/PEB process is even without delays such as challenging findings at various points. I absolutely recommend taking the free legal counsel or hiring one of the very few private attorneys. Also inform your PEBLO and MSC of your retirement date...they may move a little slower. While you need to stay vigilant of your retirement date, I would not worry.

DA 199 received today, 100 VA 70 Army
How long were you been waiting? I was submitted to the PEB in September. My MSC gave me my DOD and VA ratings in early November and I have been waiting on the final PEB signature for 3 full weeks. Ive been in the MEB with zero appeals since January. My PEBLO is getting on my nerves. Some people get daily updates but I go weeks and months without anything. I only get contacted if there is something to sign or action.
