I was medically discharged back at Ft Steward demobilization after combat tour in 2003.
At the time the wait for MEB/PEB was almost 2 years...of which I would have been in medical hold barracks that whole and the medical Detachment commander pushed me just to take a simple medical discharge due to new PULSHES.
I could kick myself.
How do I "apply" for medical retirement instead? VA rated me in 2003 as 50% disabled and subsequently 100% T&P.
What would be my first steps??
