I just had my final physical for my TDRL, I am almost at my 5 year mark. The doctor saw me yesterday and I am just trying to get a ball park of how long does it usually take to get a decision back from the PEB?
Thank you in advance.

From my lengthy TDRL experiences, it could take a couple of months to receive your IPEB decision unfortunately. Take care!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer!"

Well noted. How close was your final physical evaluation to your 5 year mark?
Also my doctor told me he wants me to keep receiving treatment for my unfit condition so I hope that helps the PEB make their decision quicker, right?

Thank you!!

No worries; you are welcome! :)

Unfortunately, I am still on TDRL going close to 3 years albeit my next TDRL reevaluation in 14 months shall be my last since I shall be approaching the 5 year mark. It will be about 11 months from the 5 year mark I am assuming.

Indeed, it's a great idea to keep receiving medical treatment albeit that shall not obtain a quicker decision from the PEB at least in my experienced opinion. Take care!

True. But the doctor who did my FINAL physical evaluation was the one that told me he wants me to continue receiving medical treatment for the unfitting condition. From my experience the doctor doing the final physical is the one that has most weight on the decision for the PEB.
Thanks!!

It took 6 months for me to hear back from the PEB. They used my VA re-eval since it was pretty recent. The VA made me P&T but the PEB just extended TDRL until my next scheduled exam.

Interesting.. I thought its a law that you cant go by pass the 5 year mark? Either way, I hope your doing better and thanks for the information.

Oh no, I'm not at 5 years, just sharing how long the PEB took the make a decision and get back to me.

I see. You must be referring to the IDES system. I am taking about after the 5 year mark on TDRL the PEB give you a final decision on whether to go Fit, Unfit (PDRL), or Severance pay.

I'm talking about the same thing. I'm at the 2 year mark on TDRL. They did a review and it took 6 months for me to hear back. It was just an extension on TDRL. So up to 3 years wait for me.

Hi,

Normally, this stage of the process takes about two to three months, but in reality it usually takes six months, even longer, depending on how easy or difficult your case is. I don't know, though, if continuing medical treatments will help them come up with a decision faster. Nevertheless, I hope you're doing well with your treatment.

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

From my experiences while being placed onto the DoD military TDRL for 3+ years, it's very easy for the TDRL Department to just continue a military veteran on TDRL than to fully evaluate their TDRL case file since it's non-contestable and non appealable. Take care!
