JBLM Timeline

You only got a proposed rating now. You will know if you are P&T when you receive your final VA letter. This will happen after your retirement date.
Got it! Now if I was put on TDRL, could I still be P&T with the VA?

Did they close your case before signing the 199?
I didn't sign the 199 yet. I called VA today and they told me those are proposed ratings sent to PEB. Unfortunately, she didn't email them to me so am waiting to hear from my peblo.

Yesterday my case said updated and still open but then I have a case that is closed out. Little confused because it seems like I have 2 cases now. EBenefits didn’t update anything.

Mine did the same thing when they had finished my proposed ratings, but not everyone will get an update in ebenefits it seems. Try checking with your PEBLO or the VA and see if they've got your proposed ratings.

I called my peblo today and notified him but his response was that it doesn’t mean anything and ignore it. I’ll upload a few screenshots.

How long on average should I expect to wait for retirement orders to be cut? I had to submit my DA 31 and Commanders Counseling to HRC yesterday. My leave is scheduled to start Feb 28th, I have already done CIF, I’m scheduled to outprocess my BN on Feb 23rd, then will have to go to Ft Irwin to final out (On Army Recruiting) before Feb 25th.

PDRL Exam ?? Nov 2022

Question in regard to CRSC @RonG, can I go ahead and sign the application form with a date of say tomorrow, and submit it after my final date? And for conditions such as tinnitus and rhinitis, since they are presumptive for OEF, do I need to include those?

Hello @Newguy5

1. In my opinion, your application must include all conditions you believe to be combat-related and it is best that you do not presume that the board is going to automatically approve something you did not claim. Under the scenario you describe, I would not have been required to submit an application for prostate cancer (agent orange related). Note:

2. By signing now, rather than wait until everything is approved and documents received, accomplishes little. Recommend you submit all the documents listed in your service's guidelines on their CRSC website on or after your officially retire. From Army's webpage:
Step 3
- Make sure you have a retired pay account, and a VA waiver in place on your retired pay account from DFAS. Go to 'My Pay" pull up your electronic retired pay account, look near the bottom and you will see the word "Waiver" and a dollar amount next to it. The two must common reasons for an ineligible letter to be mailed out is No retired pay account and/or VA waiver not in place on account.

3. Reference item 2 above: If the CRSC board receives you application before a DFAS retired pay account is established, there is a good chance your application will be returned without action.

4. Note: Each combat related disability must be described on a separate page per instructions for DD Form 2860. The Collection of CRSC Information LINK below my signature block includes other links to each service's web page for CRSC.

Did you ever talk to the DOC on the phone about the DBQ? The PEBLO say I might have additional exam which QTC. I'm waiting on the VA to schedule it. I'm not sure if I have to re exam for some stuff.

Long time listener, first time caller.

I’m at JBLM as well.

NARSUM signed: 4FEB22
Packet sent to PEB: 7FEB22
Proposed VA Ratings: 28FEB22 (saw the compensation status date change on va.org so I looked into EBenefits for the actual notification letter)

Question for the group: What happens next? I assume my PEBLO will notify at some point about the ratings and that the packet is now being figured out on the DOD side of the house?

Thanks!

The waiting game for the 199 begins. At this point the VA has sent your DOD ratings to PEB.

I am officially in terminal leave!!! Retirement date of 7 May, PTSD on TDRL, re-exam in Nov for PDRL. My question, for seeking behavioral health help, do I go to the local VA while on terminal? Or do I have to wait until retired?

Update to my timeline. Talked to my peblo today.

NARSUM signed: 4FEB22
Packet sent to PEB: 7FEB22
Proposed VA Ratings: 28FEB22
Back to PEB and building Ratings: 4MAR22

Peblo says once it goes back to the PEB that it could take up to 30-40 days but he said it can always come earlier.

I hope this helps anyone
