Medboard Timeline (Walter Reed)

doing 6 instead of 12 would be better? for us or for them?
Doing 12 would be better for us. If they are doing 6 then it would double our wait time for hearing a decision. I hope @jsaint05 PEBLO is right and the info I got is incorrect for all of our sakes. 2-3 month wait to hear something would be dreadful.

Dang lol I hit up Mr. Lyons too so he’s probably like….this mf told the whole world our convo lmao

Are you in the Navy btw? Just asking to see if our processes would be different, I couldn’t imagine so seeing as how we’re both going through our MEB through Walter Reed
im marine corps but i dont think its too much different idk tho

Ok, I'm In the Navy...Good to know our processes are not that much different but of course hearing from a fellow boardee the our lawyer said it'll take 2-3 months just to hear back from the board is a tad demoralizing....just have to remain positive and keep pushing.

right before my case was sent up, my lawyer told me that he's seeing people get their findings in 1-2 months, at least here on pendleton. it seems like the marine corps side of things is going pretty fast based on people im talking to on here. its hard for me to not get my hopes up but im trying to not get too antsy

im hoping to be on terminal by the beginning of october

Same here...I'm really just waiting for that VA rating to come back, hopefully 100% P&T, I'm pretty sure based on my conditions that I'll be above 30% from the DOD, minimum 50% honestly.

im really hoping to get 30% for my referred condition. according to the VASRD i should but its for my knee and all i hear is how rare it is to get retired for a knee. dod is my main priority so i can get healthcare for my family

Might sound like a stupid question but within all that timeline how much longer are you anticipating before you EAS?

I am just now at the MEB Referral phase and I’m getting very anxious about the timelines and planning for afterwards. I’m at Camp Lejeune for reference and there is no forum for Lejeune
I am still waiting on proposed rating…sent up May 23…

no updates on your end?

I was gonna call the va but i guess ill just wait till i hit the month mark to start making moves like that
bro i call the va everyday im ready to get out of here

nah im still in the "decision phase"

Was gonna call but im already over this process and aint tryna hear no bs rn so im just gon wait till the month mark. Also in the process of TRS right now so i dont gotta worry about it when shit actually starts moving.

Yeah it's possible. I happened to call them when they were still working on things and they began their decision process on the 17th of May, I called on the 21st. They sent me over the complete decision letter with a deferred condition in an email. After that, on the 28th my claim closed on the VA tracker. I noticed there were new files attached upon the claim closing, and the files sent to me on the 21st had directions for the rating team so I was certainly not meant to see that, so I called to receive them. All it was was a letter saying I am being proposed to have 100% VA disability and it thanked me for my sacrifice, with a separate letter stating I should submit a claim for scars I didn't previously claim.

After you sign your package and elect to submit your personal statement, request IMR, etc. that's when you wanna start hitting up the VA for updates, your PEBLO will likely be the one to forward your package rather than your MSC.
What number do you call to get in contact with the VA to see if they have any updates? My PEBLO has not been responding to my emails for the past couple weeks, and I want to see if they potentially have any updates regarding the VARR I sent up.
