Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP)

Anyone in the Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, or Norfolk area currently in the PEB phase. I was found unfit 23OCT24 and trying to gauge a timeline for the VA to send my findings. Been seeing 60-85 day turnaround from other branches and locations here on this forum. Please share or drop some knowledge/timelines if willing. Thanks.

Good Afternoon All,
Just got my findings in yesterday, 100% P&T for both DOD and VA. I have a couple of questions regarding aid and attendance benefits that I'm due to receive as well as the 100% DOD rating, which is extremely odd. I heard the max for DOD was 85% for non-concurrent retirees. Will keep you updated when i get my findings review underway.

With regard to aid and attendance, my findings said that I am entitled to benefits for meeting A&A criteria, but it is also saying that I have met housebound criteria and that I will be receiving that instead (aid and attendance under 38 USC 1114(L) and 38 CFR 3.350(b)(3) pays more than housebound allowance). Nothings ironed out yet so I hope to return with better information for those that may or may not be in the same boat as I am.

Hit up my MSC as my PEBLO has officially ghosted me and still complete radio silence. Will update once I hit the PEB 80 mark. Hopefully yall have better luck/support working yalls cases.

Pro tip I just came across!!! Log in to MyNavyPortal and click on your name. Drop menu click on CASE STATUS and will show:

12/15/2024 01:39 PM GMTAssigned-processingRetirements/SeparationsPDRL/TDRLNotification of Processing – Sailor pending PDRL, TDRL, or SEPSEV decision.

I'm assuming this is the date while in PEB the VA either 1) starts working on your DOD rating and VA rating or 2) Completed the rating and sent it back to PEB for their review before PEBLO receives the ratings and reaches out.

PLEASE if I'm wrong or anyone can clarify this information please do share!

So, you're close. The PEB sent their notification to PERS which initiated the MyNavyHR case, and then they sent the disposition over to the VA at the same time. At that point, the VA starts finalizing your ratings and generating your paperwork. It was 9 days from that case generation note to my VA case closing.

Im a Marine I can't get into that portal wish I had something for that information. my peblo is also a ghost! still last thing I know is the letter from the V.A. with my proposed rating... so im clueless

My VA app was also closed on the 20th so we should hopefully be getting our stuff around the same time. My WW rep said I should hear back hopefully NLT than next Friday so we are getting close. Tomorrow is another federal day off so it will probably be sometime next week.
As far as not hearing from your PEBLO it seems pretty common that at this phase you have been crossed off their list as we get a third PEBLO who specifically handles the finding...although I'm not sure if that's the same for Marines.

I hear you. I am the same way. I have 1 overarching plan for what I am hoping my date/outcome will be and about 30 contingency plans in case of the worst case scenario and everything in between and it was driving not only me but my wife crazy as well.
I posted this somewhere else recently but the best thing you can do is step back and appreciate the small steps/wins along the way. That's why I have been all over this forum lately getting excited for others as well, because that's one less brother suffering and it means that my time is approaching also. Much easier said than done I know, but you'll make it. Almost there.

VA proposed rating is back, which means it will be sent to PEB soon (Hopefully). Combined VA rating of 100%
Congrats!!! I think I had pretty much the same timeline as you(UNFIT 24Oct) so hopefully I will be right behind you!

It always feels like for those of us in this area, it takes way too much time for everything to process, I just found out on Monday I was found unfit, my VA claims have been with the VA since June last year, and I still in the decision phase.

its a new week lets hope we hear something!!!

my VA app finally reflects my claim it says. " your closed claim, decision review, and appeals" "Compensation reviewed December 18, 2024 5 of 5: complete moved to this step on December 18, 2024." does anyone know what that means? or timeline from here?

It means they've rated your claims, give them a call and ask for a benefits estimate letter and it'll have your proposed overall rating and award amount.
