LAS

Hello I was just informed that I’m being medically retired @ 80%. I have the option to apply for LAS, but at what cost? Will regular longevity retirement as well as disibility checks be cut like concurrent reciept? I’ve seen other posts that their disability was lowered after completion of LAS and going through another MEB (required for LAS)

Over 20 makes you eligible for CRDP. Generally that works out best for the member. You are looking at 80% of your high 3, all of which is taxable if you take DoD pay. VA rating would be tax free. After twenty you get CRDP; VA part is not taxable, DoD is taxable unless your elect CRSC and decline CRDP.
